Around 46.40 Underwater!, they look like big copper ores.

There are a few Pyrite spawns outside the cave along the outskirts of the building ruins, but the vast majority will be found within the cave proper.

They can be tracked by miners.

It's amazing that no one has left a comment on how far the quest giver is away from the questing location. Literally over half the map away. And no flight point. Lame.

Oh and the road riding the rim doesn't go to the location. GRRRR!
