I actually had the Summoner's Salt drop from the Blackrock Champions as well, not just the Summoners themselves. Not sure about the drop rate tho, it was 2 out of the 14 needed coming from the Champions

Can confirm these drop from all blackrock orc mobs. Though only it appears 1 at a time. Where as the summoners appear to have a chance to drop a stack of 2.
The drop chance on all mobs appears to be quite low. Be prepared to grind for a while.

Never commented on this site or any others like it before, but I honestly had to after seeing this steaming pile of $%^& of a quest.

So first you have to go to Darkshore, already a @#$%ing trek and a half. You have to have a raid of at least 6-7 people I'd say, as the enemies are like level 29+ in the tower of ASSlathassx. Then you get into a raid and one person will run up and pull, and then everyone else will run past and loot the orb, leaving you to die. You run back, raid group falls apart because everyone else gets what they need.

THEN you join another raid. This time will be the one. Nope, same thing. People pull *!@#, you attack something. Everyone ignores you and runs past you for the orb. Third times the charm though. So you're now like 2 hours into this quest.

Then comes the next part, you gotta go to SW to talk to someone. Okay easy. They want you to go to redridge, to gather salt from some stupid blackrock orc elites in one of the MOST CONTESTED QUESTING AREAS IN THE ENTIRE #$%^& GAME, an area with like 8 mobs on a 15 min respawn timer and 5 groups all trying to do the same quest. 14 of them too. So you join a group, nope, people leave soon as they get their orbs, or elite kill w/e. Then you join another group, same thing. You have 3 salt now. Join another group, oh.. same thing. 2 people drop group to join another, leaving you alone. Then you get invited to another group, Oh woops, same thing happened. People got their 3 shadow orbs and tharl kill and just booked it. Oh boy now you're at 5 salt. Now you're running around trying to kill *!@# solo because no ones answering in the chat to group. Oh look a horde rogue backstabs you for a bajillion damage, now you have to run back. Oh you rez and a horde druid kills you. Another run back. Well now you get there, no ones around, finally.. you rez heal, drink and pull another enemy and SURPRISE a horde druid while you're solo fighting two elites.

Well, you afk for a bit to do some chores, come back and try again. Thankfully you find a group. Oh, except you still have a quest that's finished so they kick you after two mobs to invite some level 20 mage instead. Okay fine, back to solo killing. Soon as you pull, Look whos there. A Horde Rogue and a Druid. Teabagging you.

5 #$%^ing hours of this later, and you finally get your 14 salt. Why 14? because *!@# you that's why. Then you go to turn in... and you find out you have to travel to ashenvale to grind #$%^ing stupid motes off stupid ass demons in a stupid ass pvp zone with stupid ass horde killing you every time you !@#$ing rez. Not to mention, you need a raid again since everything is 29+. And if you're doing this a week after launch it'll take you 20, 30, 40 mins to get 8-10 people. Then you have to wait for people to run over.. and run through the zone on the only road there is, with huge groups of horde ready to kill you over and over and over again as you run to the area to do the quest. And then oh look, more horde.

Great quest blizzard. You really 'listened' to us players when we said we didn't like our time being wasted.

You think this is just one persons account, multiple people ended up with something very similar to this. 5, 6, 7, 8 hours to do the quest line. This is insanity.

And it's not just paladins too. They padded this game like they always do with pointless repetitive and timewasting %^&* like always. Has to be one of the worst questing experiences I've ever had, and this is including P2 trying to get into BRD to do quests, corpse running for 45 mins because there's a line of enemies killing you 2 seconds after you rez.

Peak game design as always Blizzard. Zero respect for players time. I could've legit played any other game and in 6+ hours beaten half of it. But no, I just spent 6+ hours getting a single *!@#ing spell that's basically mandatory because of how strong it is.

I can't answer to FkSoDo11 post for a some reason, but what he typed is 101% true.
Lone Wolf PVP server, asked random allies to take me into the group for gathering salt, for hours. Zero reaction. There was paladins, there was another classes - zero. Gosh, a half of Europe don't even speak English (I am not native English speaker btw)!

So to make this quest you should be a dedicated guild paladin, so your guildies (yes, you need a guild also) - at least 3 of them - will WASTE THEIR TIME TOO with you on gathering this items. Not 10 min, not 30 - HOURS!
If you made a paladin as an alt just for fun - forget, you will never make it, because nobody will help you, coz nobody wanna waste a HOURS of their gametime for unknown reasons and there would be noone around to carry you in that areas either.

WoW nolifer nerds are happy from such "quests". Normal people - not.
