Rogue Hotfixes - Saber Slash and Deadly Poison Stacking Fixed on Season of Discovery

Today there was a good change to how Rogues' Deadly Brew, Saber Slash, and Envenom runes work while in groups with other rogues in Classic World of Warcraft Season of Discovery. Now all of these rune abilities work like you would except - two rogues, two Deadly Brewers, two stacks of Deadly Poison on the target and no problem at all.
Prior to this change the
Poison mortel
that triggered from the very powerful
Breuvage mortel
rune could only be applied by one Rogue per target. If you had two rogues with Deadly Brew rune, there would be only one stack of Deadly Poison per target and only one of the two rogues would be able to deal damage with Deadly Poison. That one rogue who owned the Deadly Poison debuff would also be the only rogue able to use
Envenimer
, which requires you to have Deadly Poison on your target.
A similar problem existed with
Coup de sabre
's damage over time effect with only one Rogue being able to benefit from the damage over time portion of the ability.
Multiple instances of both Saber Slash and Deadly Poison on the same target, 12/5/2023
As it turns out, this was not technically a bug. This behavior with debuffs that stack up multiple times in the same debuff slot is an accurate behavior on Classic Era servers. While it is not technically a "bug fix", the folks at Blizzard saw the problem with how these runes are implemented and acted quickly to allow all rogues to enjoy their new and exciting runes in Season of Discovery. There is now no problem with having multiple rogues in the same group - each rogue can use whatever runes they want to!
