The Process - From Spirit to Rebirth

Plan! At minimum you need to obtain a Spirit of any kind. Before you use your spirit though, consider looking at the possible rewards you can get from that particular spirit.

With a reward in mind, find a Wildseed suitable to reach that reward but don't use your spirit yet. If your target reward needs 2 Catalysts, make sure you choose a Wildseed that can support 2 Catalysts.

Plant Catalysts connected to your chosen Wildseed! Remember to use catalysts needed for your desired reward. Catalysts can be obtained commonly from Covenant Calling quests. Check the picture above in case you are unsure of which catalyst plots connect to your Wildseed.

Once you've activated your catalysts, use the Spirit in your inventory on the Wildseed you chose.

Wait. Once the spirit is infused in the Wildseed, all you can do is wait for the Incubation process to finish. The time it takes depends on the Spirit you used. This ranges from 1 hour to 7 days (less if you use Feuilles temporelles). You can see how much time is left by checking the Incubation buff on the Wildseed or by viewing your Covenant Sanctum summary by clicking the button near your minimap.

Once incubation is complete, interact with the Wildseed and the spirit inside will appear.

Talk to the spirit! It will thank you and then spawn a Queen's Conservatory Cache with your rewards inside.

Repeat! Once you've talked to the spirit, the Wildseed can be used right away for another spirit.

Find an available Wildseed with at least 2 connecting Anima Catalyst Plots.

Plant a Feuilles temporelles in one Anima Catalyst Plot and a Fleur-de-nuit sauvage in the other plot.

Now use Graines de feuille temporelle, Graines de fleur-de-nuit sauvage, or Germes de grain de racine sauvage (whichever catalyst you need more of) on the Wildseed you chose.

After 1 hour, come back and collect your new catalysts from the Wildseed.

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 (your Anima Catalyst Plots remain active for 12 hours).

They're listed in the shared rewards, bhut not in the chart of how to obtain rewards.

Something unclear here is how spirit quality interacts with quality catalysts. Like, if we use 4 wildseed root grains on a green spirit, does the rewards table above still apply?

Love the covenant, but this mechanic is just hot garbage. It's click and wait. No interactivity, no real choice and the rewards are trash until 30 WEEKS into the addon, due to limited income of redeemed souls, even if you upgrade nothing else. And what's the great rewards? Ah yes, transmogs that won't be worth jack since 25% of the playerbase will try to sell them constantly and mounts that look exactly like other mounts you can already drop elsewhere.

Seems like the incubation period is a lot longer than the 1-24 hours mentioned above. I didn't notice the part about viewing the time left in your Sanctum report and was confused when the seeds I infused had not finished after a 24 hour period.

Am I right to think that it's better to save your wildseeds until you unlock rank 2 and get catalyst slots? Planting a wildseed without it will render you nothing?

After a few days of messing around in the maw and asking others, I’ve got a better handle on where these spirits come from and how they work. Spirits seemed to be guaranteed from your weekly maw quests and may drop from regular dailies in the maw. The daily in perdition hold seemed to drop them reliably, but you need to rep up with Venari to unlock this area. I’ve also seen them drop from maw rares, but it’s somewhat uncommon.

On a side note, the quests don’t seem to advertise that they drop spirits until you hand it in and view the rewards. Also the quality and type of spirit you receive is often different than the one you see in the rewards screen.

So far I’ve harvested 2 pods and talked with others who have harvested and the consensus is that the yield on rewards is incredibly lacklustre for the difficulty of finding souls and waiting 3 days to grow. I personally got 5 widow bloom from one and 7 cloth from the other. Both were rare (blue) quality spirits. I may wait until I can unlock catalysts to do further growing as the basic satchel rewards are pretty sad.

I hope this will be a worthwhile activity when it’s fully unlocked but so far it’s been a little disappointing. I miss the farm from Pandaria.

Edit: Finally got level 2 conservatory today. Some things to note: Catalyst seeds take 24 hours to incubate in a Wildseed Pod. A temporal Leaves can shorten this to 1 hour. Ideally you'll want to stock up on catalysts before you start spending your spirits so I'd recommend spending the first day or two using only Temporal Leaves and building a stockpile of all 3 catalysts.

Catalysts only last 12 hours, but they don't need to be active the whole duration of the incubation. They only apply their effect at the moment you plant your spirit, so you want to plant catalysts first, then plant your spirits, and don't bother wasting more catalysts until after harvest.

This is one of the features I tested fairly extensively in beta - I planted 300 seeds using various combinations of catalysts and seed type. What I learned was that you really never want to plant something without a either a quality or quantity catalyst attached. Quality is best if you can manage it because otherwise you'll get common mats. There didn't seem to be any correlation with how often you got fish/meat versus profession mats, but at least with a quality catalyst you're more likely to get Elsyian Thade. Sometimes you're lucky, and sometimes you're not.

I did notice that some covenant seeds seemed to skew toward one profession over another (Bastion seemed to drop less leather, for example), but I don't think I had enough testing to really be sure of that, and beta was also patched a few times in the middle of my testing so I don't trust the numbers.

The uncommon weapon drops were pretty common for me but the rares had a significantly lower drop rate. Mounts were a surprisingly high drop rate but (a) it takes quite a while to unlock rank 5 of the convservatory (b) there's only one plot you can try for them with and (c) the drop rate was so high that it felt like beta shenanigans. YMMV.

Just had an odd experience with the seed pods. I put in two seeds that grew for three days, set the spirits free and collected the reward. I didn't have any new souls in my inventory, so I just let it be until later, but upon my return it kept saying "you can't do that yet" even thou the display of Queen's Conservatory said it was currently dormant.
Checking back every day, it kept saying the same thing, until today where I was suddenly able to set the two souls free (again? I think it was the same ones). I'm thinking it could be related to the party sync option, which seems to have messed up a few things before as well. For example I had to bind my soul with Dreamweaver once more even after having her as a soulbind for days after coming out of party sync.

From the guides and reviews I've seen, I hesitated to unlock this feature at all. I'm glad I came here before spending anything, because the comments confirm that the only rewards worth the investment are the mounts, and I don't care about them right now. I'd rather invest the souls and anima in more useful sanctum upgrades. Later in the expansion when the Maw dailies are afk-easy and I'm swimming in anima and souls I no longer have any other use for, maybe I'll kill time padding my mount collection while I wait for the next expansion. Until then this is a hard pass. There are plenty of other ways to burn time and resources in SL.

Question, my conservatory is at rank 2, and in the sanctum upgrades it say that at rank 2 "you can seek out a powerful, rare, and unusual spirit that may be able to aid your efforts in the Conservatory" what do they mean by that? Is it basically the spirits that we are restoring or am I missing something, and should be looking out in the World for this rare and powerful spirit? Anyone know?

Hot take: The Queens Conservatory so far is a let down. I am level two so I do realize that there are more upgrades to go and there is room for improvement but so far I have used about 10 souls and even used double catalysts on my souls and received nothing more than a couple fish or some rock. I was legit excited for the Conservatory, I even gave up upgrading my transport network or my conductor for a week to save up the souls to get it early and so far it has just been utter disappointment. You set everything up, wait three whole days to come back and collect 10 fish or maybe 10 flowers you can pick in 30 seconds. Super depressing and I hope that this is something that will be fixed.

In my opinion, if you opt for level 2, then you have a ripe breeding ground to make catalysts. That is, in combination with a Temporal Leaves, you can quickly make more Temporal Leaves and then Wildseed Root Grain. Basically stockpile the stuff for the 2 and 4 wildseed catalyst items. The Temporal Leaves reduces the production of the catalysts to 1-hour, and a single Temporal Leaves lasts for I believe 8 hours.

Sadly, this was my first covenant upgrade for my second toon. After choosing Kyrian for my first toon, I was disappointed in the travel and redirected anima options. I figured this couldn't be worse, but I was wrong. Wish I had seen this article before wasting time/anima, but at least I hadn't gone beyond the first upgrade.

Does anyone have data on whether the satchels "prefer" mats for which you have the gathering profession? I'm a herber, and a couple weeks ago I seemed to get a decent amount of ore, skin, cloth, etc. But now the last, I think, dozen seeds I've harvested have been fish or herbs. It's not the worst thing in the world, getting those flask ingredients, but I do enjoy using the farm to boost my other mats for alts levelling through. So I was wondering if this is intended, or if I've just had a run of luck with my rng.

Levels 1 and 2 seem to be for planting Catalyst seeds and building up your stock of catalysts. Perhaps a good time to experiment with Green quality Spirits as well. Don't expect much in the way of rewards at these lower levels. I am currently experimenting on using catalysts to GROW catalysts, as i don't see any guide for that yet.

Can someone confirm whether your Queen's Conservatory needs to be at rank 5 before you have a chance of obtaining the 4 covenant mounts? Meaning that you need to spend 44k Anima up front?

Considering your four choices to spend anima on covenant upgrades:

2] Anima Conductor
3] Command Table
4] The Queen's Conservatory

Let's look at the Queen's Conservatory.

Out of the 4, this one has 5 tiers, the other 3 have only 3 tiers. That would
suggest that the developers favored this branch of the tree more thatn the others.
Maybe not. To me, it seems like this is your "end game" stuff, I say that because
it will take a long time to collect that much anima.

Currently, I am at renowened 32 and I am still on tier 1 for all four of my
sanctum upgrades. I put my anima into getting all of my covenant set pieces up
to 7/7 ilvl 197. So that's just me, but I suggest you spend your anima any damn
way you want to and do not regret it. You'll keep getting more anima.

Of the four, I am most interested in the Queen's Conservatory.

Revised now that I'm rank 5:

Conservatory is the only thing worth investing into after Rank 2 Conductor (for legendary rng protection) and Rank 1 Travel Network (mushroom network is so useless and irritating except for extra dailies)

If all you want are the frog/turtle soulshapes, you only need rank 2, much easier at rank 3. If you want -any- mounts, you need rank 2 for the normal Wakener Runestag, and you need rank 5 for the 4-catalyst seed for the rest. If you just want the shared mounts it's way faster just to have a Necrolord or Kyrian character as they can straight up buy them (5k anima each from Necrolord's Exalted Stitchmasters rep, or up to rank 3 Kyrian Path of Ascension for 2.5k anima each after unlocking them with the requisite achievements + Duskrunner is free from a rank 4 boss clear)

After having to deal with crazy farming and running around required for the Kyrian/Necrolord/Venthyr minigames, the Conservatory is a nice chill passive thing. You get spirits just doing things you would normally do, like mission table and weeklies. No mass murder of deer or crap like that for crafting. Catalysts you'll farm up a bunch in a couple hours and never worry about again.

The drop rate of the bonus items is pretty low (maybe 1 per 5 seeds on a lucky harvest). On the other hand, the bonus items are totally FREE. No extra anima required at all except for the ensemble, so it is effortless to get your rewards even though it is zero gameplay. There are additional quests which populate the garden with critters like a Yak (unfortunately stationary), a pettable Frostwolf Puppy, and a Crane, as well as a questline that awards the Mystical Orb of Meditation toy.

As for sources of spirits, it is mainly the Maw and mission table.
Green: Maw dailies
Blue/Greater: Maw weeklies, weekly covenant soul gathering, and mission table
Purple/Divine: Mere chance from the Maw weeklies/covenant soul weekly after rank 4. The quest preview seems buggy as it may show you will receive a purple spirit but then you get disappointed. Typical Maw stuff.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that spirit quality only impacts the chance to get bonus rewards because I've gone 3/3 on bonus rewards from the 4x wildgrain spot using Divines, but 1/2 on the same spot with Greaters. The satchel rewards were the same quantities.

Spirit rewards without boosters will be really pitiful, e.g. waiting 3 days for 3 Lost Sole. The material type you get is pretty random.
Journeyman's Satchel and Artisan's Satchel reward the same material quantities (not sure if it is because of rank 5, I remember the quantities being different). e.g.
lost sole x3, 3 each local fish, 3 elysian thade; or soul dust x6, sacred shard x3, eternal crystal.
Large Satchels (e.g. 1 wildgrain + 1 nightbloom) will award contents of 2 random equivalent Satchels.
Spirit-tender's Satchel (4x wildgrain) awards 1x Spectral Flash of Power + 1x Surprisingly Palatable Feast

With Journeyman and Artisan satchels rewarding the exact same stuff, if you are only farming mats, it would be best to Wildgrainx1+Wildbloom in the 2-catalyst spots, as you get 2 satchels every 3 days as opposed to Wildgrainx1+Temporal where you get 2 satchels every 4 days. It's actually best to not use Temporal at all the seed times stay synced, unless you have a pressing need for catalysts.

Divine-quality spirits seem available starting at rank 4. However, the only source I have gotten them from so far is Maw weeklies from Ve'nari (both the two base ones and also the Perdition Hold one) and it is not a guarantee. Even the max-campaign adventures on the mission table still cap out at Greater quality.

I love the part that you can passively grow spirits while doing other stuff like legacy raids to farm mounts or tmog. For a short amount of time twice a week you get your spirits from Maw or adventure table when rank 5 and don't need the anima on upgrades. Catalysts are dropped from things like enchanted chest, large lunar pod or daily quest in the queen's conservatory. So far my favorite covenant feature. The only downside is the anima-grind to get to rank 5. But in the end it will probably be worth it.

That is, does it make sense to save all seeds until you have a Tier 5 conservatory, and only incubate them in the 4-catalyst plot? Or do you need to incubate with only one Grain de racine sauvage for a chance at the green rewards?

Pets seem to come from 2x Wildseed, not 1. Using 1 has only ever given me green transmog items, and I have only ever received pets from using 2.

It seems we cannot upgrade The Queen's Conservatory to level 4 before having others to level 3. My Mushroom network was level 3, anima conductor was level 2 and command table also was level 2. I stacked enough anima and second necessary item (forgot its name, it was souls I guess) to upgrade it to level 4 Queen's Cons. But there is warning showed up saying: not enough sources. I had all sources to upgrade so I think this meant for other utility features. So I had to use my sources on Anima Conductor. Now I have to wait to upgrade my command table and than I can upgrade Queen's Cons. Sigh.

Poorly done bliz, when your in game doesn't bother explaining any of it you've failed. I don't mean tell us what we'll get but simple things like "plant wildseed root grain before seed" should be something in a tutorial quest, not something we have to turn to a third party site to learn. Starting to expect to see a quest that is just a number we're meant to go google so we know what to kill and where.

My take on this, why bother? Having several alts that do gathering herbs and ores and skins and such, seems to be only useful stuff you get till you've blown huge amounts of Anima to level it up and continue to get crap.

Meantime having foolishly gotten into Queen's Conservancy, the chests and rewards that used to give me anima now give endless supplies of catalysts. Which I don't need any more of.

Personal recommendation, skip this thing.

I can confirm you really can get mount from "Greater" spirit +4 seed today I get Gruesom Flayedwing from martial seed.

I'm not gonna lie when i say i'm a bit disappointed when i say i don't understand why you can only get mount from the very last Observatory upgrades. I think there should be a small chance at any tier to obtain a mount from one of the seeds when using the Root Grain and not only when you are using 4 for one seed. Or atleast make it able to drop when you use 3 grain for 1 seed as right now it seems like you don't get any improved reward from using 3 grains for a seed.

I'm sure some have already said this but I finally unlocked tier 5 of this thing and after another 3 day wait for what I think is going to be the best loot yet...

3 Catalyst Seed got x 3 Wildseed Root Grain (purple catalyst) buffs. This seed gave me (12) shrouded cloth and (3) Lightless silk

4 Catalyst Seed got x 4 Wildseed Root Grain buffs and dropped (1) Spectral Flask of Power and (1) Palatable Feast. ***For a 3 day wait & 4 Purple Catalysts***

Has anyone received more than one of each pet from a single character? I have all of the pets and am wondering if it's worth continuing to use 2 Wildseet Roots on several plots to try and get copies I can sell, as I have yet to receive any single pet twice.

I really respect all the players here who put in time and thoughts on how this works and what you can get out of it. It seems almost like a game by itself, so like you prefer to be a gardener rather than let's say a DK. I dropped this Conservatory about six months ago and haven't look back. As I said, no disrespect to who plays this but I am out. Fun to all!

If you've completed another covenant's special covenant game and already gotten all those cosmetics, and are just after the Night Fae only cosmetics, this is the list. I found the guide to be a good starting point, but it is missing some things.

There is an achievement for incubating one of each type of spirit, up to epic. Epic spirits ONLY drop from the weekly 20 soul quest (only the first, not the repeats) and the daily quests from Ve'nari (2-4 quests per day, some may be covered by the covenant assault. I find that the Necrolord assault is the worst for this because there is typically one quest in Perdition Hold, sometimes two.) These epic spirits are very rare, and with the prospect of receiving multiple repeats, may be the last thing you complete for the Queen's Conservatory if you're set on completing everything. If you were confused like I was about where to get the spirits for these in 9.2.5, upgrade your Conservatory to rank 4 and then do Ve'nari's dailies.

You can get quite a few greater i.e. rare quality spirits. I have yet to get a divine i.e. epic quality one even though I've seen people mention that her quests award those too.

Aside from that, you get one from the weekly quest in exchange for 1k anima. You can also get one from the 1st rescue souls quest in the maw. I have not gotten any from the repeatable quest.

Also note that these spirits ARE NOT listed as rewards for any quest aside from the weekly one where you can pick which one you want, but they are rewards from Ve'nari's dailies nonetheless.

Edit: Just got my first Divine Untamed Spirit from the original Rescue the Souls quest from my covenant. Repeatable ones still don't seem to award anything.

If you change covenant, you don't lose your planted seeds or your catalysts. Also you don't lose anything from your bag. When you change back, everything will be the same as before, the incubation time still counts when you are at a different covenant.

So green souls were removed with 9.1 and blue ones don't give any loot. Guess they now represent the old green ones and are just as useless now. If you want any loot from these plant epic souls. Otherwise you will get nothing in exchange for 4 days waiting.
Good thing they grow while you switch covenant. So be free to do something usefull while waiting for nothing. Dont bother being Nightfae.

Since i do not see it mentioned... if you want to switch to a different convenant, you do not loose the spirits and stuff for the queen's conservatory. They remain in your bags with you if you switch convenants.
