The Alliance will aid the Ankoan, a group of water warriors.

The Horde will join a group of former Naga slaves composed of Gilbin, Makura, and Sea Giants called the Unshackled.

All of the achievements in the zone, which reward a special mount,

Being underwater for long periods of time is not very fun. However, Blizzard wanted to capture the vibe. There will be lots of clever travel opportunities for moving players in and out of water.

Queen Azshara has parted the seas, with the ocean surrounding us from all sides.

The team is sensitive to player reactions towards underwater combat and want to use it in a way that makes sense, not all the time in Nazjatar.

The raid will launch alongside Operation: Mechagon a few weeks after the start of Patch 8.2 in order for players to unlock their new Heart of Azeroth bonuses and explore the new zones.

Weapons and armor will be themed after the Naga.

Loot item levels are 400 LFR, 415 Normal, 430 Heroic, and 445 Mythic.

Confirmed fully underwater boss in the raid, which does give advantage to druids due to Aquatic form. It will be a stationary boss with players moving platform to platform; ground effects will always hit the boss, though there are some 3d requirements in the encounter (air bubbles, moving vertically). Some swim speed bonuses such as the fishing artifact will be disabled, but everyone will have infinite breathing.

How to unlock Mechagon and related daily visitor quests.

Similar to Karazhan in size, unlocking alongside Azshara's Palace a few weeks after the start of Patch 8.2 in order to allow players to gain new Heart of Azeroth bonuses and explore the new zones.

King Mechagon wants to turn anything flesh into robotic parts.

Mechagon will launch as Mythic-only mega-dungeon, and be split into two smaller Heroic and Mythic+ difficulty enabled dungeons in 8.3.

Two new zone-themed azerite traits so far; one increases the effectiveness of Red and Yellow Punch Cards by 50%, the other gains a large amount of secondary stats once per minute in combat.

Eight bosses, the first three can be done in any order, ending with the devious King Mechagon.

Logic Loops determine when a trigger will activate a Bit Band.

Bit Bands trigger once the Logic Loop condition is met.

Customizable Trinket

An exclusive socketable trinket, the , will be obtained early. It has three colored sockets that can be filled with Punch Card items, adding passive stats, proc effects, or esoteric effects which appear to useful in Mechagon itself. Some will be crafted, others will be dropped.

Many Mechagon items have interesting procs, such as wrists with equips. The weapons also have distinctive mechanical models.

Azerite from the dungeon comes with the trait, which synergies with the punchcard trinket.

Some items have zany flavor like allows you to zoom and unlocks the Trashmaster title.

Season 3

will replace as the level 10 Mythic+ affix. It's effects are currently unknown, though the idea of a Single Target version of Reaping has been discussed.

Similar to Season 2, item level rewards from various content including Mythic+, Dungeons, PvP, World Quests, and Emissaries will be increased.

Residuum won't reset for Season 3, but prices will increase considerably; hardcore stockpilers should be able to buy 1 new piece at most.

Amounts of Azerite obtained will be rebalanced to favor non-repeatable sources (Raid, Cache, Emissaries) giving substantially more Azerite than repeatable sources (Islands, M+).

Mythic+discussed on Sloot's stream

There will be a trash % rebalance in 8.2, possibly making mini-bosses give a lot of %, because now they are frequently skipped for efficiency.

Reaping is fun, but too easy.

No new base affixes until 9.0, at which point current ones will be overhauled.

Looking to rebalance affix combinations; players shouldn't struggle with +12 of one combo, but complete +15 of another. Some combinations may be removed entirely, or their difficulty rebalanced rather than retuning the dungeon around those combinations.

War Mode can be enabled in Mechagon, and the small zone will encourage heavy world PvP.

Heart of Azeroth Essences

All current and future Azerite armor traits will be automatically unlocked in patch 8.2.

A new questline involving MOTHER, Magni, and the remaining Dragonflights will kick off a new Heart of Azeroth customization system: Essences, which are obtained from a wide variety of content including PvP, Raids, and World Quests.

Each Essence has a major active ability and minor passive effect and can be socketed into the Heart of Azeroth at level 55, 60, & 65 for a total of 1 Major and 3 Minor powers active at once.

Each Essence has four ranks, the second and third rank enhancing the Essence effects, while the fourth enhances the visual. Lower level essences are easy to acquire, expecting players to have access to several Rank 1 essences within the first week of 8.2. Essences are obtained from predetermined sources, and tooltips should tell you where to get higher ranks, though some may have an RNG element, such as awarding from Paragon reputation caches.

Essences can be freely swapped at any rest area, like talents. Some are role-specific, but many can be used by any class/spec.

New Azerite armor and traits will continue to drop in Rise of Azshara alongside the Essence system.

Four new Inscription trinkets, covering each spec/role, which do not appear tied to the Darkmoon Faire.

The Prison of N'Zoth is in an unexpected, and quite disturbing, place.

The Eye of the Corruptor talks about an unknown woman we must kill.

Wrathion's Agents are popping up everywhere in 8.2, quietly spying on us.

Sylvanas ominously references her Endgame; there's more to her plan than the faction war.

Several of Il'gynoth's whispers are fulfilled in the patch.

Pathfinder Part 2: Unlock Flying

You will need to reach Revered with new reputations - Rustbolt Resistance (Mechagon), and Ankoan (Nazjatar-Alliance) or Unshackled (Nazjatar-Horde) to unlock Pathfinder Part 2.

Flight will be unlocked in Kul Tiras, Zandalar, Nazjatar, and Mechagon; the achievement will also award a mechanical flying mount, , similar to the mechanical pet .

Mount Equipment

The system is available starting at level 20, after a single character has hit 100. Equipment will be crafted or purchased from reputation vendors, and can be replaced at will (though previous equipment will be destroyed when doing so).

Mounts that already have unique effects such as the will not benefit from equipment slots (not including vendor mounts).

As a result, Water Strider will lose innate water walking, otherwise it would still have an advantage over other mounts, but Water Strider owners will get some free and discounted equipment in compensation.

There are four crafted Mount Equipment items:
, Tailoring: Equip in your mount equipment slot to install a emergency parachute that will deploy when dismounted high in the air.

, Blacksmithing: Equip in your mount equipment slot to allow you to walk across water while mounted. Any damage will cancel the effect.

, Leatherworking: Equip in your mount equipment slot to prevent you from being dazed while mounted.

, Enchanting: Equip in your Mount Equipment slot to increase your mount's ground speed by 20%.

Heroic Warfronts

Heroic Warfronts are coming in Patch 8.2, starting with the Arathi Battle for Stromgarde.

Heroic Warfronts are more difficult than regular Warfronts, but offer better rewards.

They will be flexible 10-20 players and more strategic than Normal Warfronts.

Players can actually lose Heroic Warfronts.

Island Expeditions

Crestfall is the site of a great battle from Warcraft II. When attempting to warn his father of the dangers of the dragon riders, Derek Proudmoore was killed at sea.

Snowblossom is a Pandaren Island, featuring the return of the Vermin from Valley of the Four Winds.
These Islands will introduce new rewards including and .

Azeroth Minis are a new type of Mechagon collectable, though without many details just yet. They appear to be displayable using the .

All transmog slots, except for pants, can be hidden.

Heritage Armor sets are coming for Gnomes and Tauren.

The Eternal Palace Raid will have Naga-themed armor and weapons.
One notable weapon is , a replica of Queen Azshara's staff.

If a quest sends you to another continent, new UI tech will help provide directions and additional portals as needed.

Holidays

Brewfest will have some updates with several new drinks, collectibles like and , and a new currency token . The Mag'har and Dark Iron Dwarves will play a part in these content updates.

Those bio/mecha gnomes are in the uncanny valley. I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's that they all look like fleshy torsos and heads and everything else mechanical. Instead of some of them having different bio and mech parts. Maybe they will look less uncanny when animated. Or if they wear pants.
I kind of suspect Mekkatorque might end up one of them. And maybe an allied race. If so, I hope they can get an arm canon that shoots "spells" or bullets.

Why are you posting a speculation date when there has been no official announcement? 8.2 has not even been announced for release on PTR yet. As much as all players love Wowhead for information, this surprises me and is rather disappointing! Sharing info is one thing, but getting hopes up by using speculated dates is out of line. The only reason you are speculating on such as the time frame will be the end of Season 2 of PvP, but there has not been any official word on release from Blizzard. Heck even Ion has not said when! Please do not become a fan site that relies on players thinking they know more than Blizzard and jumping to conclusions before specific announcements are made!

Wow, now I finally see an allied race I'd like alongside the vulpera, those beautiful cyborg mechagnomes! Naga themed transmog, underwater areas, new world quest styles, island changes, damn this sounds good!

Now I just need to make a hunter, with yellow and black transmog, a spear, with a bee pet and bee battle pet, riding into battle on a bee. I'll make her my banker, and call the guild, Epipen not included

I have been dreaming for a long time to get here, to see Azshara somehow, in a beautiful underwater world, and it turns out that there will be no water directly. So this is not an advanced version of the charming ambient of Vashj'ir? Will we breathe air on dry sand? I'm disappointed, very much. :(

Looking forward to almost everything listed here! As for transmog, I keep hoping they'll introduce a way - perhaps quest-based - to unlock ultimate transmog... meaning you can transmog a plate chest to look like a leather one, mail to look like cloth, etc.

I'd bet a fair amount of gold that the new Raid might be pushed forward a couple of weeks to compete with FFXIV Shadowbringer's release date. Blizz has a very long history of doing this with their big competitors. I doubt they'd let 8.2 arrive an entire month later however. But at the same time 8.2.5 may come at that time (earlier than planned) to meet the date. (July 2nd, or late June for the early access)

Okay, so adding Heroic Warfronts is great. But I wish they had made Warfronts actually Challenging rather then a gear drop spam.

More strategic, dufficult and actually have a chance to lose a Heroic warfront. Why not have that in normal version?

Only if you're crap at gamedesign.
Look at Subnautica for instance, which is a brilliant game, 99% under water.
You litterally have access to a third dimension. You need to be a two-dimensional entity NOT to see the added benefit...

Make mecha-gnome customization theoretically possible to make it look like a normal gnome. Meaning able to change any part to a normal part, or mechanized. That way we can get full-mechanized gnomes, or gnomes with like just their left leg.

Mechagon as for me a very small location. Manage from one end of the card to reach the other. =(
Nazjatar- I think it would be more advantageous if it were like vashj'ir . At the very least, changes are new to make of water mounts to ground using Corail d’eau froide en bourgeon

Could we safely assume Mythic +10 chest loot will be like this past season 2? The end dungeon loot on a +10 will be the same as a heroic raid which will be 430 ilvl, and +10 weekly chest will be 5 ilvl's less than Myhtic Raid ilvl loot? Making +10 weekly chest ilvl 440?

This patch doesn't fix anything when it comes to trying to pvp. It's impossible to compete anymore unless you want to pay for raids or lose 90% of your matches for months against people with 250-300k hp until you get ilvl 400.

Who comes up with this kind of logic? Sky Golem has advantage over other mounts anyways because YOU CAN FARM WITH IT UNLIKE ANY OTHER MOUNT IN THE GAME. Thanks for the free water walking equipment I'm not going to use though. Glad to know my wasted time back in MoP is appreciated by terrible compensation. Mount equipment is a great idea, but how it's being implemented and the fact that you need need to buy new ones if you want to switch is stupid. Also glad to know that this equipment is also going to be completely irrelevant come next expansion. Not to mention the removal of some thing that unique in the game such as a mount that can water walk.

Does anyone know if you are required to be finished with the questline or War Campaign in able to start the questline for Rise of Azshara? Would be nice if was available without any restrictions because that would just be painful for leveling alts.

Ok so this is exactly why retail is bad.

example: Operation: Mechagon has a secret hard version of the 4th boss, HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit which can be triggered by defeating the preceding three bosses in a specific order.

WHY ARE YOU TELLING US THE SECRET? letting the community figure this stuff out is the whole point of the game. Now the game is just autopilot and we know everything.

example 2: mount equipment. Let's give mounts the ability to walk on water and run faster on the ground in the SAME PATCH WE ADD FLYING! like wtf? Who is the game designer here? Did none of the employees question this?

Under the "Characters stories and war campaign" section, I think you may have had some copy/paste issues. I am fairly confident Baine is not wielding the Black Blade of the Empire.

Being underwater for long periods of time IS FUN for most of us. Many wish we had more underwater zones. Maybe we will get an underwater PVP map one day.

I love all the underwater stuff in WOW and wish we had more with BFA. Now with new xpac coming, maybe we will see it then.
