As a lvl 56 this took about 20 mins total to do the two quests (mainly spent looking for the parts for the first quest). Rune dropped off my fourth Siren, don't let thott's % rate fool you because plenty of people slaughter these for other quests =).

I killed more than a hundred, very frustrating after hearing that many others were getting their rune on their first mob. I reset the quest, tried everything. It dropped from a level 50 Myrmidon in the Shattered Strand. So.... 1) it can take a long time and 2) it does not have to be inside the ruins proper.

I always hear about these people that find drops like these on their first few kills. Then I hear about people that got them in 20 kills and are complaining. I am convinced that I have the worst luck ever.

On second thought, it was only about 40 kills. I spent a lot of time killing the serpent guards that were in the upper area. The quest LIES! It says that a "naga" took it. It also said that it was in the Ruins Of Eldarath, when it was actually on the beach. How frustrating. Blizzard has to get these quest descriptions to be a little more specific.

you can pretty much get it anywhere.. loc doesnt matter. Took me about 40 minutes of killing maybe 50 or 60 of them.

45 minutes killing these on the beach. Went up into the ruins and after 6 kills in this area it dropped at 37,50.

yep i was at exactly 37,50 and dropped from a siren...so...ye everyone says it drops there also...to 37,50!

I've been on the shattered strand for 5h just farming the nagas and it won't drop >.< but I got loads of xp and money. Also got a epic sword, Bloodrazor, but still

That spot in the ruins ( /way 37, 50 ) indeed seems to have a higher drop rate for sirens since it took me only 4 kills in there to get the item whereas I killed 30+ on the beach and no loot

It drops form Ruins of Eldarath (37,52) mobs - Spitelash Myrmidon (6%) and Spitelash Siren (5%), so don't bother yourself with other nagas.
+ there is 0,4% drop chance from Spitelash Battlemaster.

It would appear my luck is with me. 10 mobs and it dropped. But I was farming golden pearls anyways, so it didn't matter so much. Crocolisk meat in Swamp of Sorrows...Now that's a different story. And don't get me started on Felcloth!
