This pattern only drops off the Firewalkers in Burning Steppes but it's best to kill the other types of Dwarves in the area because they respawn randomly and killing all of them yields more Firewalkers to spawn.

Farmed it today, took me 7 kills :P
Others in my guild weren't so lucky tho.
There is only about 4 or 5 of these mobs at any one time and they seem to share the spawn with the Agents and Spys, I suggest killing everything you see in order to get them to spawn.

But after killing Onyxia and getting the head, I was tasked as the Guild's Onyxia Scale Cloak maker as I was the first LW to get the head.
We discover it needs this rare drop so I pop over to searing gorge to farm for an hour.
Got it on the 5th kill :)

After our first onyxia kill I decided to farm this- You need to head over to the dwarf ruins. The problem is that the firewalkers are fairly rare- as all the mob spawns in that area randomise between 3 types of mobs. Took me about 5 hours, where I killed maybe 80 of the firewalkers

As a group of 2 we farmed them for like 2-3 hours and dropped the recipe. Don't forget to kill *all* the dwarves in the zone, not juste the firewalkers. As each spawn is random, killing a spy or agent can make a firewalker pop some minutes later.

at 120 firewalkers and many of the other types that patrol here, 2 blues, 8 greens, 8 stacks of runecloth

Got this pattern after 1h of grinding, when I looted it, I got another on the 2nd kill after that. :)

Can I get some coords of where you actually found it? I am thinking that maybe there is a higher drop rate at a certain location. I will past the coords here when I find.

this is insane! you guys got it after 1st or second drop? youre so lucky! i have been killing those dwarfes for over 5 hours now with no luck :(

I was starting to think I was going to have to farm for hours on end like I did for Crusader. Yet 7th kill and it dropped. The worst part was running around waiting for them to respawn.

Took me about an hour of farming and i got this pattern and 2 cindercloth robe patterns. But my question is what do you think will make me more gold; selling the pattern or selling the cloaks?

Having just got the ability to make Onyxia Scale Cloak I decided to farm this as nobody in the guild could make. I prepared myself for days of farming, within 20 minutes I had this pattern and the pattern for the legs. Needless to say I was pretty happy!

After 12 hours of killing Thaurissans finally the pattern drops. Now I need to grind essence of fire.

I killed 32 of the Flamewalkers and the pattern dropped. That is about a 3% drop rate for me.

Heh... went out today looking for the pattern... Got one on the first kill... and another one on the 4th kill. Thats some damned fine luck I guess... One for me and one fer the AH... Stuck around and killed another 30 or so after with nothing more than some runecloth and silver dropping...

And 2 cherry pies... Yummy.

All you people who talk about getting this pattern in the first, or even fifth, kill are really lucky. I spent three days trying to get this, and it only dropped once a guildy offered to help. (It only took us about five minutes of farming before it dropped, too!) Maybe farming is weighted towards and against various classes; I'm a Priest, and the guildy who helped me get it is a Rogue. :P

the drop rate is same its jus game mechanics and stuff that makes drop rate and actualy the game decides on use for u for drop rates and rolls... and ppl askin for coords THEY ARE IN ONE PLACE stop being lazy and go find them the exact location of one isnt gonna help ur drop rate on it

While running through burning steppes mining I would stop and kill these guys. It took a couple of weeks but this morning I found 3 with in the same ruins. Dropped off the third one. Woot mailed it to guild tailor!

I was farming rich thorium and agroed 1 firewalker, and killed it, And it dropped :D
Then 10 mins later i killed one for fun, ANOTHER DROPPED :D

Took me what felt like forever to get this pattern, but it finally dropped. I got an enchanting formula and a blue mace before the pattern dropped though.

If you want one on Spinebreaker send a mail or tell to "Narse" (Horde). You provide me the mats, I'll provide you the cloak.

Took me 70 kills for this to drop, a total of 200 Thaurissan dwarfs. Dropped just as I was about to take a break.

I am officially on kill 317 (Officially, 47 before I reset my WDB&WTF) on the logoff tonight. 3 of the pants recipes have dropped, yet still no cloak. I must be vigilant in my pursuit, though.

I decided to farm it so I could make the cloak component for my Onyxia Scale Cloak. It dropped off my 8th kill, then my guild tells me we already know how to make it. *Doh*

I was farming it and got Pattern: Cindercloth Pants and
Recipe: Transmute Undeath to Water

so i wasnt 100% unlucky :D because that undeath to water worth alot but i already had it ;'<

Painful, at least it was for me, overall i spent 2h40mins there, killing all the dwarves, was going to take a break, but decided to kill a few more and, it dropped... Bring a friend, just go east/west along all the broken houses and kill everything. Drops only from flame ones, they share spawn with spies and agents... gl
