This appears to be a part of the Alliance lvl 10 Warrior quest, but they decided to change the quest and leave they Stolen Box there. The key probably dropped from James.

so its crappy loot but i want to see what crappy loot is and if u kno whats in it then tell us or post the name on this btw where is that stupid key i was in the cathecral if it is in there then i didnt look very hard but james couldve buried it....

Sweet, there's too few!

I just ran around the mountainsides looking for copper to mine when i bumped into this burnt down house. I accidentally saw mouse-over'ed the chest inside the ruins. The minute i saw the message "Requires James' Key" i checked thottbot. This is the kinda stuff that bothers the hell outta me! I'm not slaying another mob til i find this friggin key.

If anyone see's this key or have any info, let me/us know, ok? I wanna bust this chect open.
( Anyone tried Seaforium Charging it? :D )

Well i reported the key problem and not being able to find it and what not maybe blizzard will fix the problem =)

Can't find the key, can't pick the lock, can't blow it up...this thing is making me crazy. I just want to know what's in there!

The key drops from the 1 humanoid you can kill in Eastvale Logging Camp and the chest is in the burnt house. The burnt house is directly east of Northshire Abbey, but you have to go around the mountains (ie pass through goldshire). Pass the murlocs where you find Rolf and fight your way past all these guys (mercs, riverpaws, Prowlers, all lvl 9-11). Once you do that keep circling around Stone Cairn Lake and you'll eventually see it. It's about a 20 minute thing for anyone lvl 11-12, which is the lvl i suggest you be at to do this.

Bypass Northshire Abbey Gate. One can climb right over the mountains and never fight a single mob.

There is no Key.

You CAN NOT open the chest.
You can not pickpocket him.
He does not drop the key.

The Key Is No Longer A Item In WoW.
It Used To Be Part Of The Warrior Level 10 Quest Where The Chest Was Stolen From The Cathadril And Hidden In Elywwn, The Quest Was Changed And Now James DOES NOT Drop The Key Anymore, Though He Is Still There And The Chest Is Also.
James, The Key, And The Chest Are NOT IN GAME QUESTS ANYMORE

He's right there is no longer a key because blizzard changed the quest.

I have found this key only once with a group of friends off of James Clark in Eastvale Logging Camp. Think it is part of a quest, but not one that I had.

If it is a stolen box from the cathedral of light (stormwind) im guessing it has to be a quest in there? im not entirely sure on my theory.. but also if this is a broken quest why do they leave the item there? why not take it out and end this idiocy of confusion for us

James Clark is located in the Eastvale Logging Camp. He's a Defias. I killed him 4 times, he had no key. His spawn time is 3 min after death. If I find out more I'll post.
