Great cape for rogues druids and hunters, but expensive mainly because it requires 4x Skins of Shadow, which are BoP, meaning the crafter has to make trips to Scholomance every time he prepares to craft one of these capes.

Although i can't say this isn't a great cape but the materials needed to make it are a little too much for me, a few runs in Undead Strat can get you a the cape of the black baron, which gives you more attack power overall, you lose a dodge percent but in pve raid damage that shouldnt be the death of you.

Agility is the primary stat for the hunter/rogue. It adds to their attack power (this is not the case with other classes) and determines their base range attack power. The only difference in the classes as far as armor is concerned is that rogues wear leather and hunters wear mail after level 40. They will almost always want the same cloak.

The chromatic cloak offers resists and the spell crit bonus but no agility and no bonus to dodge. Both rogues and hunters depend upon dodge when meleeing - it activates some of their melee abilities and is much higher than for other classes. If the chromatic cloak had a bonus to crit for weapons it would be a contender. But since all of our abilities are tied to our weapons, spell crits are not as important. A base +.3% crit bonus (15 agility) is better with the dodge bonus.

Essentially a 2% dodge, 1% crit and 8 stam cloak. I would take this over Garg Cloak anyday. For MS crit... its the best. For tanking... its the best. Simply the best cloak of any damage dealing melee/hunter.

What mob drops this pattern? Also is the pattern a BoP? This would be an excellent pattern to add to an ele lw's collection. One of the finest cloaks in the game for pure melee classes.

I don't know what it means for other classes, for lvl60 rogue the stats translate into ~0.5% crit, ~2% dodge, 17 attack power from ag, 80hp, plus whatever armor. Un'goro guardians can be soloed for the stones, essence of air is easy to get if you happen to know a couple of transmuters, skins of shadow need 4 runs through scholo with a bunch of buddies, and leather/hides/thread is not even worth discussing. IMO this cloak is definitely worth the materials.

since sithilus has been itemized only thing people have to complain about is those shadows...to bad people seem to think they are worth 50g or more each providing all other mats i have been asked to pay 250g for making it and one guy evne said 500O_O i need to find this recipe for one of my freinds...

Just Purchased this pattern on Magtheridon for a nice chunk of change... as far as i know im the only LW in that server that can make this cloak, /w VaB if you want to run me through scholomance and get me the materials to make you one :D

There's no way cloak of warding is better than shifting for MT/MA. It is very good for a druid in bear form. For a tanking warrior 214 armor is next to nothing, +7 def is OK but there's plenty of more useful defence gear. All the warriors I've spoken to would gladly take the shifting cloak as they get roughly ~1% crit, ~2% dodge, and 80hp.

I can make this on the Malygos server. Will make a deal, and this includes the 4 trips thru scholomance. This is a descent cloak for a rogue or hunter. If you have the patients of a saint I can grind for the mats, but it can be faster if you get the ones you can.

from patch 1.10 skins drop from rattlegores friends when getting key kill them all helped a friend farm them got 5 in one run not so hard

I make this cloak on my server, Silvermoon and it generally sells from 600-650g. I have never sold it for less than 600. If u only farm the skin of shadow and buy the rest of the mats, that's still about a 400g profit.

This just dropped off the crate in DM north, you can get it by freeing the goblin near the second door way, by the trap. You have to get a gorduck key to free him though, it drops off mobs commenly also in it is mats for the oger suit, This dosn't have a big drop rate but it dropped for us, also Foror's dropped in the same run.

Also on that line of thinking, good luck finding anyone who wants to run Scholo more than once or twice a week. Unless you want to PUG it and then you'd better be able to get to that room or else, your run is wasted.

Not to mention one Scholo run is around 90mins
(maybe 60min with good group)
so to do 15 runs would take 22.5 hours !

22.5 hours every day for a week.. and when do u sleep/eat and live? :D

And do a couple of Strat Baron runs for the Cape of the black baron. Far superior for both Rogue and especialy Hunter.

Better than doing several Tribute runs; Scholo runs for the skin of shadow; Killing guardians in Un'Goro and grinding Elementals in Silithus for 2 days for the Elemental air.

Not to mention that this is only for Elemental LW-ers

As of today, these recipes aren't exclusive to leatherworking specialization anymore! Finally my DS leatherworker can make a cape worth making.

There are a bunch of new recipes instead, all BoP stuff but looking pretty cool. Anyone got info on the new stuff (especially dropped recipes)?

Got this baby today and sold it for 275g to someone. Might have gotten more from it but w/e I don't care I'm too impatient to sell this for a week.

And yes I got it from the chest you get from freeing the goblin in Dire Maul North (you need a Gordok Shackle Key to do this)
