It might have a level requirement to drop. Hard to say with Blizzard. I am going after it when I get of work. Hopefully I don't run into alot of problems. Is it easy enough to pull him away without getting any links. Be my first time in that area.

Hey, i've killed the quatermaster lots of times but the letter will not drop for me. One time i grouped with a mage, we killed the quatermaster, (i attacked first) the mage could loot the letter but i couldn't! Just my luck... I've killed him over and over and over again but the letter will not drop... Any idea's how this could be?

This quest item is not yet dropping in classic even with the blue post stating it will drop on the 10th, possible bug.

*Edit* Confirmed dropping on herod server

This is dropping as of 10 Jan 2020 for Classic U.S. servers. BWL releases on 12 Feb 2020, according to a Blizzard post. So you can get attuned a good month in advance. Enjoy!

This item starts the quest Les ordres de Blackhand.

To start this quest for your Repaire de l'Aile noire attunement, you need to kill the Intendant du Bouclier balafré inside Mont Blackrock and loot the Instructions de Blackhand from him. This will start the quest Les ordres de Blackhand.

You then need to enter the Upper Pic Blackrock, kill Général Drakkisath, and turn in the quest to the Marque de Drakkisath behind him.

You are in front of the entrance to Blackrock Spire. The Intendant du Bouclier balafré is located in the hallway to your right leading to a little orb. The NPC drops Instructions de Blackhand. This item will begin the quest Les ordres de Blackhand. To complete this, get to the end of the UBRS and use the shining orb behind Général Drakkisath.
Once completed, you can use the orb at the Intendant du Bouclier balafré to instant teleport to Blackwing Lair.

Can be solo'd as a rogue, even if the adds are there, as long as you've got a healing potion with you.

1. Sap grunt, blind quartermaster, pop evasion/adrenaline rush/blade flurry (careful not to hit an add, position yourself accordingly), kill the acolyte. DO NOT LOOT THE BODY of the acolyte (you don't want it to respawn too fast). Vanish.

2. Wait for 5 minutes in stealth, go do something else (have a coffee etc)

3. When your cooldowns are back up, sap the grunt again, pop every cooldown and go to town on the quartermaster (again, blade flurry, evasion, adrenaline rush). Pop a potion when needed, be ready to blind or kidney shot him if you get too low and bandage (a few ticks should be enough) As soon as he's dead, loot the letter and vanish once more.

That's it, I just did it at level 56, so I imagine a level 60 would have no problem at all.

Imbecile,

I hold very little faith in your ability to prevent outsiders from accessing the master's lair. In the very likely event of your death, this orb has its own failsafe built in to prevent outsiders from teleporting directly into Blackwing.

Only those with the Mark of Drakkisath branded upon their hand may make use of this orb. Thankfully, Drakkisath is not nearly as incompetent as you, Quartermaster. He guards the brand himself!
