Only 1 or 2 BoE epic ranged weapons higher level than this and those are still very rare to see hit the AH. I currently use this one on my hunter. If the price is nice, highly recommend picking this one up. And the 2.9attack speed is the sweet spot for marksman hunters.

This is why I try to only go with guildmates in groups or raids. We look out for each other. Usually the group leader is master looter. If an item drops that is bind on pickup, the people that can use it shows what they have, and the one that greatly benefit from the item will get it. A gun like this will always go to the hunter first. If no hunter, its roll or group leader will hold onto it for guild "bank". Anything left over at the end will be devided "evenly".

People talk about 600 gold. I say so what...at what point is x amount of gold enough? If you need to amass crazy amounts of gold to make you "uber", more power to ya..I just dont see the point.

Reminds me of a group i was in doing gnomeregan. They desperatly needed a healer and would suffice with me as a Paladin being healer. So off we went We wiped a couple times close to the end becuz of accidental pulling. But in the end we won. What drops, a blue shield. Im thinking, yay, i�m the only shield user in group, and i had had my mind set on a shield even before, anyway i expected everyone to pass. What do i see, a Mage rolling on it and when told in group NBG he acts like it�s raining.

Needless to say, i gave the group my blessings and went goodbye.
Seem�s like a loosing attitude in the long run, and i can only hope this Mage was a kid who eventually will grow up and learn how to behave.
Reading the post�s on this forum made me think about it again.
You guys stating you don�t owe random people nothing? How about Decent Humanity? If that is to much to ask for, maybe you guys should consider Tetris, a splendid Solo game where you will have null interaction with us; human people with human feelings. There�s a person on the other end off this computer ya know and i�d like to think that i�m in a group with equalivants, not persons who feel they owe us nutting.
In the end though, people will join guilds where they feel at home with, and a guild where self centered ideas like this flourish will proly never get to know what "strength by numbers" means.

Needle certainly caused a stir with his comments. However, if you noticed, this Need Before Greed thread is only on the BoP items or in otherwords, world random drops. Interesting no? (that's cause it only happens outside organized guilds)

While Needle is "correct" in saying, any class that can equip can have a crack at the roll, WoW (because its a MMORG) isn't like that. Neither is life. This isn't a solo game, its a community game.

WoW is about having a good time and getting to know everyone around you better, to work better together. Its the sole reason for the guilds. I never had this problem in my guild and this is "ninja looting" is almost unheard of on my server.

Why is that? Cause if you rolling on something a friend needs more, you're not looking out for each other. Soon, you'll be very very alone.

And the best stuff is in MC. Try going there alone, if you can even make it to the enterance. So you're best bet is to make lots and lots of friends right? (at least 39 =P)

WoW isn't about UBER gear (well, it is but ain't the most impt). WoW is about having fun

Think about what it'll cost you if you roll but someone else needs it more. You may lose more then just a wpn/armour ^^

I've played various MMO's for years and I never knew that nbg was such a heated topic. I always thought that common sense dictated that if you're in a group and something drops that only one person WILL use, then it goes to that person. If more than one will use it, then you roll. It also seemed obvious to me that USING a weapon meant more than simply equiping it. This gun is obviously near the pinnacle of hunter gear. . .why deprive them of it?

I'm in a small guild, only about 15 people so we're obvioulsy not equiped to go on a raid alone and it therefore becomes even more important that we're not totaly #$%^s. I try to encourage all my guildmates to treat their group members with the same respect that you DO treat the members of your guild with. After all, there's no saying that a person who isn't in your guild can't become a regular hunting partner.

Anyone, rogue warrior, hunter, whatever, who gets this gun is going to LOVE it with every shot they take. But think about it when you're going through the next instance. Count the number of shots the warrior and rogue take and count the number that the hunter takes. Those numbers add up quick. And realize that the hunter that gets the gun will probably cross your path again some day, and you WANT him to have that gun.

Also to those of you out there saying roll away I don't care, whoever gets it gets it, it's not that I only think you have the wrong attitude, but I think in the long run, if everyone were to play with NbG you wouldn't have to amass 600 gold to buy the gun and you wouldn't have to roll against the pally for the uber shield so you could sell it for hundreds of gold so you could buy the gun that he rolled against you for that he wants hundreds of gold for so he can buy that shiled that you won that you want hundreds of gold for so that you can buy. . . well you get the point. Stand up for NbG, be a good person, you'd be surprised how many people will remember you for it, and you'll be surprised at much more you'll enjoy the game and the people you befriend because of it.

I have had this gun now for a bout 1 month roughly, our guild rades MC often so i have had a chance to give it the true test!

AVG autoshot = 400 - 600
AVG aimedshot = 800 - 1000
Crit autoshot = 800ish
Crit aimedshot = 2000ish

My highest crit so far has been 3239! poor alliance scum got 1 shotted that day, as my jaw dropped and i wet my pants~!

my fellow guildies have the hunter epic bow from Magmadar that has sculls on it, and the gorewood/willy pee shooters

atm we all feel that the DHCannon is the best gun in game due to the sheer High End Crits and the fact that this gun being slower means you dont have to worry about running out of ammo durring long raids in places like MC, nothin beats a 1shot PVP kill!

just my 2 cents on this gun

this dropped in strat scarlet and a hunter looted while we were killing adds. eventually my nagging him about being a ninja made him hand it over to be rolled for at the end. i rolled 99 and sold it to the hunter who tried to ninja for 650g :) serves him right!

this certainly is not warrior weapon, its a typical great hunter weaopon, cause of the slow speed and high maximum damage, meaning it saves bullets and hits real hard with aimed shot, multi shot and ofcoarse autoshot. Since it has no stats it meanse very little to other classes cause they really shouldn'tget the chance on hit that much.
Am worried about one thing though, and that is that i hear proc brakes scatter shot. I hope this is not the cas and if it is they should fix it.

Got it on emrald dream for 105g. Pretty good deal for a hunter i think

UPDATE: I tried Scatter Shot with this and it DOES NOT break scatter shot if it procs at the same time. This is tested in 1.12.1.Probably all procs have been fixed the same way

this weapon is good, i'm a 53 troll hunter masksman and i got q crit of 1990 with this gun (rapid killing not enabled and without a scope on it) so i would say it does some damn good damage! although heartseeking crossbow only gave me 6 damage less in my inventory and is a lot cheaper on AH (got crossbow for 10 g and DHC for 70g) + it gives you some extra agility to get e bit more crit ^^.
if it drops cool just don't waste money on it like i did :D

In Scholo 10 man raid droped off a Dark Shade. I was the only hunter, everyone in the raid insisted I take the weapon. I wanted to roll rogues and warriors for it since i was content with my crossbow which i have hit 1933 crits with, but they insisted I take the gun but only if I equiped it on the spot. I gladly equiped it on the spot and now use it to this day. But I have a crossbow that had higher crits, but because its faster than my crossbow I get more shots and crits off. I have about 15% crit rate. The faster weapon = more crits I get off but lower in damage. The slower weapon the higher crits = less of them. Over all my DPS is higher than it was, which was high enough already now its just sick.. I usually do more damage in instances than rogues, mages, locks and warriors in any instance before I got this epic. Cant wait for more damage! I use the Damage Meter mod, and damage doesn't include my pet damage into my own, the pet damage is seperate.

I got mine in a Scholo raid a couple weeks ago, rolled against a warrior for it (why on earth a warrior would roll on this over a Hunter is beyond me) but I won it with an 18 :D (he got a 2)

this is a very nice weapon and would be well worth the money if you had to buy it off the AH

I gave in and bought one of these the other day, not too impressed. I don't know what to think, I had this gun before. The DHC does more damage, but the DPS seems to be lacking with it equipped.

For those hunters who aren't spec'd in marksmanship (i did beast mastery), you won't get nearly the result that Polyformist stated. I found this on AH the other night for 500g buyout, i was saving for an epic mount but i said screw it.

After having tested it out, with aspect of the hawk on, i get on average autoshot of 200 on end game mobs(non-elite). I don't know of Polyformist damage was on pvp or MC mobs or what. As of writing this, i have a total of 304 agility so it's not i'm lacking that. Looks like without Marksmanship spec'd it's not as perfect as it should be.

Needless to say, i'll respec to Marksmanship soon.

i found this in winterspring and equiped it exchange for the bloodseeker and its bull.....my crit with bloodseeker is like 1950 and with this joke its like 1500........wow i wanna effing smack ppl who spen like 400 gold on this wen they could get a free bloodseeker....that crits for 2 times more

Just got this off an Yeti Matriarch in Witherspring while doing the Yeti Fur quest. Almost fell out of my chair!

My first epic drop, and as a dwarf hunter, I think I've used up my luck for the next year! The only downside of this weapon is it's hard for my pet to hold aggro anymore with so mich crit gear I'm using.

I was in scholo w/ a random raid group. We were fighting a lvl 58 non elite skeleton when BAM this drops. I was w/ another hunter. Sadly he rolled a 28, while me 48! I must say this was a major upgrade cuz I was using a green rifle. But since then my biggest aim shot crit was 2500+ and my best autoshot crit was 1K+.

Lvl 60 hunter regularly running MC weekly. Hoping for Striker's Mark/BlasterShot. However Im behind in points =(

Just bought this off the AH for 315g. Upgrade from a hurricane. This gun is the best, destroys the hurrcane. Massive damage, huge crits. Only have 4 pieces of the beast set so far.. crit 1 in 4 shots with my gear. 650-750 crits. Only drawback is it gets you hella aggro :D Great weapon. yeah the MC bow is slightly better. But it is never going to be a possibilty to get without some serious time investment. This is a hurrican killer! :D

Blizzard has absolutely nerfed gun use for classes other than hunters with a cooldown and a 1 second use being a rouge engineer this sucks. I guess I'm gonna have to boy a new bow.

Depending upon the way you PvP this gun can make you a goddess, or a noob. It's also situational pro or con. As a PvE gun, it's righteous.
But if a warrior can charge you before you get too many shots off, you've wasted time and your DPS is crippled...if you have a fast gun and nget more shots off, you can hit your average DPS with one shot being interrupted not bringing that down. If you find dumb horde that stand there in WSG and let you shoot them, or charge the paladins, you'll have alot of fun. Also, hiding and popping off aimed shots from those houses is a blast, too.

This dropped in Stratholm, UD side from an Elite Ghoul. Luckily, I was the only hunter present so I got it. Awesome Aimed Shot crits! Only "bad" thing for me was that I bought an Eaglehorn Long Bow for 150G the day before...

For me it dropped off one elite dwarf guy in Alterac Valley someone had kited to the South Bunker, I couldn't find him in the drop list in WoWhead here. I didn't check his name other than he was an elite dwarf up at Dun Baldar.

In Classic wow, as a Hunter, the fire proc damage will cancel your Scatter Shot (very often). It will also remove freezing trap from your target if the gun procs on a viper sting. I do not recommend this weapon for any hunter that does PvP.
