The number seems to be static.

Each time it's activated a number is picked between 1 and 150 and for the rest of the channeling every second you take the same amount of damage.

For example if you press it and take 70 damage, you're going to take 70 damage every second for the rest of the duration. This allows us to plan ahead with how much damage exactly are we going to take.

If the first tick is hitting you for 1 you might as well not bother standing still for the rest.

BEWARE: The on-use effect appears to scale with spell power or is otherwise bugged numerically as of P3 launch period. Maybe don't use it if you are lagging, because it can kill you.

I unknowingly used it after combat in Tanaris on my level 40 warlock that just got it tonight and was about to ding 41 afterward, got a 166 per second tick (?) and died about 6 seconds later.
Her health pool is about 1100 at this moment in time, so she would not have survived without moving at full health anyway, but holy moly.

Does anyone who has it know what type of damage you get when it ticks? Is if fire damage going by the trinket name?
