A blizz rep at US forums heavily hinted that they plan to add some sort of stat bonus for the bags (fact). Most probably something to do with drain soul dmg / number of shards from it (speculation)

This dropped on Blackrock off Magmadar (though I'm sure it's random off any MC boss) and I got it. Name is Lorentz on alliance side.

i dont think so, check`the other mc recipe drops, all of them are dropped by a boss.

if you plan to buy the mats for the bag - think again.. On Arthas core leather runs about 20g a piece... about 300-400g for 16. definately not worth it at the moment..

what a rip off. this would cost hundreds and hundreds of gold just for 8 more soul shards? seriously, I could understand if it held 40 or something, but 8 more than the lowest cheapo one?

would you pay 300+ gold more for a travelers backpack over something that held 8 slots less? At least a travelers can hold other #$%^.

Dropped for our guild from Garr. This pattern is not Bind on Pickup like the other patterns that drop from MC. You can actually trade this pattern.

Like the patterns that drop from all the outdoor bosses, this one is also not BoP. As several posters say that it dropped for them from Kazzak it appears that Blizzard added it to a lot of bosses so that it would appear on each server fast.

However the costs of this item is for most guilds not worth to craft and thus only guilds that have had MC on farm status so long to be able to spend that much Core Leather on a simple bag, will even consider crafting it. Besides the Coreleather, the amount of bloodvine is also very high. On a full ZG run, I think my guild gets maybe 2 or 3 Bloodvine.

core leather is easy to get,and if need be even farmable.fiery and lava cores arent.
gulds end up with way more core leather than lava and fiery cores.
i get core leather from my guild to make bottomless bags without a problem 2 or 16...as long as it helps its the guild its not that much to ask.

Drop percentages are way off, since they include many kills before 1.9 and this item was included in 1.9. Keep that in mind ;)

Let's see, on my server (Eonar), the mats at current AH prices for just the Core Leather (40G ea), Felcloth (2G ea) and Essence of Fire (20G ea) will rock you 760 Gold.

Better have a good guild to farm the mats on this one, assuming you or someone you know has learned the recipe in the first place.

In my opinion the amount of raw materials to make those bags is insame...

But you have to consider high end guilds that have nothing better to do :D

For such players, spending 400 golds only to get a couple extra space in their bags must not be that bad.

It's not that expensive anyways, i think...
A few DKP for bloodvines, core leather and essence of fire, felcloth is easily farmed - or bought for ~40g overall, and the silk isn't expensive either.

The charge is a service charge. Same deal as alchemists charging 3g per arcanite transmute. Some people do it, some don't. It's justified by the fact that many recipes took a lot of time/effort/money to obtain. I can craft full Flarecore, and it took forever and a million gold to get to that point, so I would like to make some return on that investment, which I can do by charging 5-10g per crafted item. It's why you see Flarecore pieces for 500-600g on the AH when the mats only cost around 400g.

I wish I had the recipe for this bag...

u can use the leather u need for the corebags much more better for making FR gear, it would be better that it get some stats like a pouch for hunters in the next patch

With that much core leather it should build your own Core Hound.

Seriously though you're better off with the 24 slotter. At best 28 slotters are for impressing people which is pretty hard considering most people can't see your bags nor do they care.

This dropped for me last night on Shadow Moon server off of Lucifron in Molten Core. Got this the night that patch 1.9 went in. The increase in mat price compared to the 24 slot bag is massive.. especially because it offers no benefit at this time. It's really not worth it unless you just have these mats to throw around and want to be l33t.

My guild does, however, have a surplus of core leather. We can't really find anything to spend it on, so we rep up our guys TB rep with it and i just grabbed a hunk to make my bag.

I geuss when you get down to it, it's not really that bad for a group that regularly runs MC. Bloodvine's not that hard to come by if the same group regularly runs ZG. My guild does both of these, so we had this stuff sitting in our guild banks and I grabbed it. 16 leather out of our 95 leather stockpile... wasn't a big deal.

The pattern can be already obtained in classic, just got one in yesterday's MC run. However, the mats cannot be gathered yet as ZG is not opened and you need the Bloodvine. Shame.

Looks like the recipe has bloodvine as a mat, these cannot be obtained until Zul Gurub dungeon is released. Odd to have a pattern drop that you cannot get the mats to create.
