this is one of those quests where u just need to be ready to sit down, and start killing (BRING A SKINNER!)

First time I did this on my main it took me about an hour and a half of farming.

Then I just did it on my alt and it drops on the first one.

...I hate my alts.

Bear in mind that the droprate you see here is not correct, as these gorillas get killed by people who don't have the quest, and hence, the gorillas will never drop the quest items for them.

The gorilla's are a great source for leather. My last char took about 6 hours of killing before the sinew dropped and since that was during the War Effort, I made massive reputation in Orgrimmar.
Set myself up for some solid grinding this time and whaddaya know: sinew drops on the fourth kill. I was almost disappointed :P

I GOT IT FINELY, 4 hours, no idea how many kills, 40 Coarse Gorilla Hair, 84 Gorilla Fang, and 1 Sinew later, I'm finely done :)

Found the Gorrlia who dropped the Q item at 32.66 today 10.05.2007 after I killed only 4-5 of them.

I'm not sure for how long I went at it, but I was level 40 14,200xp on the bar unrested to start and level 41 3,900xp when it dropped. Oy gavolt!

If you're looking for this from the gorillas, get a skinner buddy to follow you, because you'll generate loads of cash from the hides of all the gorillas you kill.

I only had to kill 2 gorillas and i got mine. Relatively quick compared to some of the drops I have had to get.

Took me maybe 1 hour 45 min. I must mention I had no competition what so ever, and the spawn rate is really good.

CLASSIC UPDATE: I've killed 40 monkeys to get it, Have a friend reporting in 90 kills. I'd say its like the yeti quest - get ready to kill around 100. Area is not farmed too heavily, being a skinner is nice, its decent XP + Money from the drops too. Worth doing.

After killing a few dozen, this dropped on the kill that got me to 40. Would have been nice to have it a bit earlier since I could have used the turn-in xp instead, but hey. Ride'm kodoboy!

It is worth mentioning that this quest is possible to do in a group! The item is lootable for all in the group.

The drop rate for this is terrible. If I wasn't playing a skinner I would have given up long before it dropped. Only the large amounts of leather made it worthwhile.
