This item is found in the Wetlands Coordinates: 39,52

It is within a cave, lying on the ground. You must climb to the top of the mountain/hill and cross a bridge to reach the cave.

There are also two other quests that you can start from this same location:

a. Ormer's Revenge, and
b. Uncovering the Past

It is actually at cave. You dont need to kill someone just take it at cave behind.+/- 38.49 coordinates.

found it in the cave at 39,52 right in the center in front of the explorers league people. coming from the road at the bottom of the hill bear left up the ramp and over the wooden bridge.

The previous comments wern't too clear on where to find it. The fossil is in the cave at 39, 52 and the entrence is around 34,41. Keep left of the excavation site and you will see a big tree. make a left and along the way there are 2 lvl 22 raptors.

I didnt understand that once you got The Stone of Elu by killing a Raptor, that the Fossil was in the cave at Whelgars Excavation, in front of the two folks standing in the cave, watch for your unlock key as you glide over the floor.

I got this one first and no mob spawned. The excavator just said "I figured Flagongut would send someone for that fossil one day"

Is up the hill on the left of the excavation site. There is a small area on the ground (in the cave) that you click to spawn the last mob.

He's tough, so have help.
