Lunar Festival (Jan 22 - Feb 12) Guide
2012-01-21 à 11:11
It's time for the first in-game holiday of 2012, the Lunar Festival--so everyone break out the fireworks, show a little respect for your elders, and come celebrate the (lunar) new year!
The Lunar Festival is held every year starting on a date that typically coincides with the Chinese New Year. 2012's Lunar Festival starts on January 22 and ends on February 12. Ancestors of Azeroth are praised and honored by both Horde and Alliance, who then reward players with a special title, Elder <Name>, a celebration in Moonglade, and numerous
Pièce des ancêtres
that can be used to purchase festive garb, patterns and fireworks!
There aren't too many changes this year, but there are a few notable ones:
Les Anciens du Cataclysme
introduces 9 new elders to visit and honor--bringing the total numbers of elders up to 84.
Lanterne de fête
are new faction-specific vanity pets that cost 50
Pièce des ancêtres
each. They are BoE, meaning you can trade them on the neutral AH to collect both. Check out our guide to the [url=http:\/\/

Tarte à la citrouille
This holiday lasts from November 20 at 4:00 AM to November 26 4:00 AM. We'll be updating again on Sunday if anything has changed for this year's holiday.
The main Pilgrim's Bounty festivities take place at bountiful tables which can be found located throughout many zones in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms. Various seasonal vendors and questgivers surround the major cities' tables, offering special cooking ingredients and related daily quests.
Bountiful tables can be found at the following locations:

Brewfest (Sept. 20th - Oct. 5th) Guide
2011-09-20 à 01:55
Celebrated by both the Horde and the Alliance,
Fête des Brasseurs
is a time to enjoy the fermented fruits of the harvest: pretzels, cheese, and booze! The competing breweries Thunderbrew, Barleybrew, and the Ogres, all come together outside of all the major cities in a bid to outdo each other with their special ales, meads, and beers. Brave adventurers are invited to sit back, take a pull, and sample the finest wares these brewers have to offer!
During Brewfest, players can acquire the title Brewmaster, collect fun mounts like
Bélier rapide de la fête des Brasseurs
, and get epics like
Sous-bock de Coren en chrome givré
. Major quest hubs are located outside of Ironforge and Orgrimmar.
Brewfest, based on Oktoberfest, runs from September 20 through October 5. Our very own Miyari put together an excellent guide for the holiday, covering every achievement there is as well as the series of dailies the event offers.
This year, trinkets and other items have been upgraded to ilevel 365 and are definitely worth checking out!

Pirates' Day (Sept. 19th) Guide
2011-09-18 à 19:44
Avast, ye landlubbers and put on your
Bicorne d'amiral de la Voile sanglante
, September 19th is
Jour des pirates
in World of Warcraft--an in-game version of the international holiday Talk Like A Pirate Day. While not a full-blown holiday, Pirates' Day still brings the grog and its very own achievement for the one day it comes to Azeroth.
The festivities take place in Booty Bay, located in southern Stranglethorn Vale; here players will find a horde of pirates celebrating on top the roof of the Booty Bay bank. For those who celebrate Pirates Day every day of the year (i.e. Bloodsail Admirals) and haven't yet made up with the goblins of Booty Bay, it may be difficult to reach these NPCs without some guard aggro. However, because they are located on top of the roof you should be mostly safe from new guard spawns. Horde players will have it a bit easier due to the location of their flight master.
Once you've arrived, speak to the Dread Captain DeMeza and share a festive drink. She will grant you the
Corsaire de l’effroi
buff, giving you a sweet pirate costume of whatever race your character is which lasts 12 hours! This buff will s
News Roundup: Missing 4.2 Hairstyles, Holiday Bags Changed, 4.2 Featured Items

Just a few Blizzard posts today - no new hotfixes yet, but if any show up I'll definitely add them. You can check out previous Patch 4.2 hotfixes in yesterday's roundup!
Some 4.2-Added Hairstyles Not Yet Implemented
You guys may have seen our awesome 4.2 hairstyles preview blog which showed off a variety of new player hairstyles being added with Patch 4.2. Unfortunately, not all of these have been implemented, but it looks like some of them made it to live...
We did have a lot of new hairstyles we had created over time up on the patch 4.2 Public Test Realms. The problem was that, even though these hairstyles were added on the test realms, many of them were not finalized or approved by our art team. Because of this, a good portion of them (about half) were pulled shortly before patch 4.2 was released on live realms, leaving only a partial implementation of new hairstyle choices.
Unfortunately, this means some races\/genders now have more hair
