Pet Battles: Wild Battle Pets by Zone
2012-10-07 à 11:10
Capturing wild battle pets is a new way to obtain companion pets in Mists of Pandaria, and it is one of the primary ways of acquiring pets for your pet battle team.
Wild battle pets can be tracked on your minimap: you can have your team fight them for experience, or capture one at low health to add it to your collection. Pet families have strengths and weaknesses against other types, so choose your opponents wisely. There are different versions of each pet--some with more stats than others--so you could get lucky and end up capturing a really strong version! There's also many achievements for capturing wild battle pets.
We've made tables below of all the wild battle pets, organized by continent and color-coded by type. With this chart, you can see what pets are unique to various zones, and also which pet types are pretty scarce--Dragonkin and Mechanical especially. All the data was taken from our interactive battle pet map and our visual battle pet database, so be sure to check them out for more information!

Mists of Pandaria Zone Preview: Vale of Eternal Blossoms
2012-06-28 à 12:13
Val de l’Éternel printemps
, a zone for max-level players, is the seat of the Pandaren empire. Sealed shut for many years, it's open to travelers for the first time after completing Xuen, the White Tiger's trials, in
L'épreuve des astres
. It is the location of the Alliance and Horde major faction hubs in Pandaria, as well as daily quests with
's archaeology hub, not to mention the dungeon
The faction hubs are very elaborate--Blizzard said they wanted them to make Dalaran look simple in comparison, and they achieved that! The faction hubs have all the amenities of major cities, as well as floors dedicated to introducing players to the level-90 Pandaren factions and scenarios with breadcrumb quests.
Between the Alliance and Horde settlements is Mogu'Shan Palace, the heart of the original Mogu empire. There are two points of interest here: the Lorewalkers and Mogu'Shan Palace, a 5-player dungeon.

Mists of Pandaria Zone Preview: Dread Wastes
2012-06-14 à 10:45
Terres de l’Angoisse
is the zone you'll probably ding 90 in. It's a dark zone, where the damage done by the Sha is the most visible. The mantid, a deadly race with an advanced culture, are wrecking additional havoc in the throes of corruption. The environment of Townlong Steppes, grassy fields with large healthy trees, is completely twisted here, with everything vivid shades of blue and purple. To combat the insanity,
are striking back, an elite order sworn to resist corruption and do what's best for the empire--even if that entails destroying the leader.
Terres de l’Angoisse
is home to the
Cœur de la peur
. There are also many rare spawn mobs that drop vanity loot in this zone.
We have a visual preview below as well as a Blizzard Q&A about this zone!
The Mantid Corruption
The mantid are a highly-intelligent insect race with their own unique beautiful culture and architecture. However, they've been a threat to Pandaria since prehistoric times, swarming the continent every thousand years. The pandaren have braced themselves
A Visual Tour of Pandaria
2012-06-10 à 12:20
For this Sunday, we have a fly through of all the zones in Mists of Pandaria. Since the level cap was recently increased to ninety, we figured now was a good time to show you the perks of flying. Blizzard has certainly spared no expenses in beautiful scenery.
Mists of Pandaria Zone Preview: Townlong Steppes
2012-05-16 à 09:02
Steppes de Tanglong
, intended for level 88+ players to quest in, is a dangerous place. The Pandaren generally live on the other side of the Great Wall, but the mantid have burst through their defenses a hundred years early. The Pandaren have no other choice but to bravely enter Townlong and investigate the majestic empire of the Mantids--while also dealing with the vicious Yaungol, enraged by the Mantid's attacks on their territory.
On the other side of the wall lies all sorts of dark secrets--cloudserpents turned to stone, great trees corrupted by magic, swarms of elite mobs.
Steppes de Tanglong
is home to the

Siège du temple de Niuzao
, the Temple of the Black Ox.
There are a number of quirky quest rewards including a cloud serpent mount:

Cross-Realm Zones Introduced
2012-05-10 à 19:14
With the latest beta patch, we\u2019ve introduced Cross-Realm Zones for testing.
During the initial phase of testing we will be sharing the following zones between the available beta realms: Northern Barrens, Ashenvale, Azshara, Darkshore, Westfall, and Silithus. We are also able to split over-populated zones and will be testing this new technology on the Pandaren starting area (turtle zone).
For beta testing purposes, we will be matching up all realm types whether they are PvP or PvE. This is different than what we plan to do for the live realms, however. For the live realms we will be matching realm types: PvP with PvP, PvE with PvE, RP-PvP with RP-PvP, and RP-PvE with RP-PvE. As always, we plan to keep an eye on constructive feedback while in testing of this new technology.
For more information on Cross-Realm sharing, please read the FAQ below:
Q. Why cross-realm zones?
For many years now, the significant majority of the player population online at any given time has consisted mostly of characters at or near the level cap. This has resulted in an environment where characters that are leveling up experience a world
Mists of Pandaria Zone Preview: Kun-Lai Summit
2012-05-09 à 16:29
Sommet de Kun-Lai
is a vast area with Pandaria's highest mountains, autumnal plains, royal underground tombs, a lush coastal area, and the dungeon
Monastère des Pandashan
. There's also the Temple of the White Tiger, and a monk-only area, Peak of Serenity. It's a zone intended for level 87+ players to quest in.
Kun-Lai is different from the other zones in that there's a ton of scenic variety between the quest hubs, from snowy mountains to forests. Lore-wise, there's something for everyone with the invasion of the Zandalari, Yaungol attacks, the return of the Mogu, Pandaren monasteries, and the threat of the Sha.
We also found the
Sha de la colère
, a new world boss, towering over a village.
We have a visual preview below as well as a Blizzard Q&A about the zone!
Zouchin Village, North Wind Tavern, Isle of Reckoning, Thunder's Call
The Zandalari have attacked the Zouchin, an unarmed village located in the most fertile part of Kun-Lai Summit. As they have weak reinforcements, they need your help. Nobody has ever seen trolls before, so the Zandalari attacks are even more shocking.
To get to Zouchin Province, you ride a hot-air balloon wit
Mists of Pandaria Zone Preview: Krasarang Wilds and The Veiled Stair
2012-05-02 à 12:18
Étendues sauvages de Krasarang
is a coastal jungle with tranquil beaches and dense rainforests. It used to be the center of the sinister Mogu Empire, but now it houses the sacred Temple of the Red Crane, revered as a place of wisdom.
Originally intended to be part of
Vallée des Quatre vents
, the decision was recently made to turn this area into a full-fledged zone. While some of the quests do take players back into Valley, Krasarang has a distinctive look and unique quest sequences involving the spirituality of the Red Crane and destructive presence of the Sha. There are plans to develop the coastal area further in 5.1 with Alliance and Horde fortresses, and it is also currently home to
, a faction perfect for those who love to fish.
There are also rare spawns with vanity gear drops and quirky quest rewards!!
