Greymane: It's not that simple, Taelia. Your father was presumed lost at the Wrathgate. It wasn't until later that we learned the truth.
Greymane: Dragon's flame had saved his life, but scarred his flesh. And in an act of vengeance, Arthas Menethil captured and tormented him.
Greymane: When the Lich King was defeated, someone had to take up the mantle and keep the Scourge in check. Your father assumed that burden, knowing it would cost him everything.
Greymane: Tirion Fordring swore to keep Bolvar's choice a secret. He made us take the same vow. We believed that knowing his fate would only bring you pain.
Taelia: "We"? Anduin knew too, didn't he? The king told me story after story about my father as if he were some long-dead hero of the past. But the whole time, Anduin hid the truth.
Greymane: Please forgive us, Taelia. We honestly believed he was a casualty of war. That Bolvar Fordragon was truly gone, to be forevermore the Lich King.
Taelia: Well, you were wrong. Now I know my father is alive, free from that damned helm. And no matter what it takes, I will go to his side.

Katherine Proudmoore says: King Wrynn, there is someone you should meet.
Katherine Proudmoore says: Along with your champion, she was instrumental in saving our kingdom... and my life.
Taelia says: It is an honor to meet you, King Wrynn. I am Taelia.
Taelia says: Taelia Fordragon.
Anduin Wrynn says: Fordragon?!

Anduin Wrynn says: Taelia... please, rise. The honor is mine.
Taelia says: Did you know my father?
Anduin Wrynn says: Highlord Bolvar was a great man. A true hero to the Alliance--and to me.

Jaina: The Old God has been vanquished. The Alliance and Horde have ended hostilities.

Anduin: I'm so glad that after all you endured, you have found peace within your heart, Jaina. I can't say the same about myself, though. Not yet.
Anduin: Sylvanas is out there somewhere. Until she's brought to justice, I don't think Tyrande or Genn will truly consider the war to be over.
Jaina: The Kul Tiran fleet is scouring the seas, and Shaw has spies searching every dark corner of Azeroth. She can't hide for long.
Anduin: I don't believe she will. Which is exactly what concerns me.
Anduin: I saw you speaking with a messenger from Kul Tiras, Jaina. Is everything alright?
Jaina: Nothing to worry about. It was a letter from a certain eager cadet asking to see Stormwind... and to learn more about her father.
Anduin: Taelia. Please tell her that this isn't a good time for visitors.
Jaina: She deserves to hear the truth, Anduin. From you.
Anduin: Tirion Fordring himself made us swear that we would keep the secret of Bolvar's fate. You made that vow just as I did.
Jaina: I remember your father once telling me that the hardest thing about a promise isn't keeping it, but knowing when it's right to break it.
Anduin: Bolvar was a noble man. To know that he sits frozen upon that accursed throne, devoting his very life to keeping the monsters at bay...
Anduin: It breaks my heart. I can't bear to see it break Taelia's, too.
Jaina: The decision is yours, Anduin. But if she learns that the truth was kept from her, it will hurt her all the more.

Stay A While and Listen - Shaw and Greymane

Shaw: King Greymane, you shouldn't remain out in the open like this. You're too tempting a target.
Greymane: If Sylvanas had wished to capture me, she would have done so along with Anduin.
Greymane: No. She wanted to leave me behind. To torment me with the loss of yet another...of our king.
Shaw: Still, we need you in the throne room. There are matters of state that must be overseen until the king's return.
Greymane: Anduin entrusted Turalyon with command of our military forces. The Stormwind nobles support him serving as regent and protector of the realm.
Shaw: I don't question the High Exarch's ability to defend the Alliance. But as a king yourself, don't you think you should--
Greymane: You and Turalyon need to safeguard our citizens from the return of the Scourge. I need to focus on doing whatever I can to find Anduin and the others.
Shaw: Yes, your majesty.

Shadows RisingAnduin places Turalyon in charge

“What does it matter?” Greymane thundered. “You said it yourself, Turalyon. The Zandalari queen pledged herself to Sylvanas first. Perhaps that vow remains true. Perhaps she has turned her back on the Horde and even now shelters the traitor and her soldiers.” He gestured to the fallen spies. “Perhaps these brave few were killed for discovering the truth.”

Anduin had a duty to the truth, whatever it might be. Both men provided opinions he valued, but he could not deny that Turalyon offered the more tempting take. Still. Still.

“I am reminded, my noble friends,” Anduin began softly. “Of a day not so long ago, and not so far from here. A placid place in the Arathi Highlands. A gathering meant to be peaceful, a gathering meant to reunite families torn asunder by forces they could never have foreseen . . . ” He sighed, leaning forward, resting his knuckles on the edge of the stone slab. “Human and Forsaken families met in good faith, trying to find common ground and common love—and many did. For their trust, for their grace, they received only slaughter.” He lifted his gaze to Greymane, who had gone mercifully still, the flush in his face fading. “I give your recommendations equal weight. Turalyon, take Alleria Windrunner and investigate these deaths.”

Standing tall again, Anduin pressed his hand over his heart, finding that Turalyon regarded him with a sure smile. He approved. “I name you High Commander of the Alliance forces. Your task—your only task—is to find Sylvanas Windrunner so we might bring her to proper justice. Hunt her day and night, use whatever means you must.”

Turalyon bowed his head with practiced gentility, accepting the honor and the charge with a humble, “My heart and my sword to the cause.”
