Invasions
are here for just a few more days before Legion starts. Before they're gone for good, we're spotlighting some of the buffs
first noticed by trest
unique to each zone. Part of the fun of invasions is revisiting old zones and fighting along side heroes, so we've pointed out memorable NPCs in each invasion like
Echeyakee
. For full details on the pre-expansion event, check out our
Legion Invasion Guide
.
As the pre-expansion event will end when Legion launches, you only have a few more days to grab items like the
Epandeur de corruption de poche
, unique transmog weapons, and
Jeune gangroptère
. Also removed on August 30th are ways to get the Grove Warden Mount, Mythic heirloom trinkets, and finish the legendary questline. More details in our
What's Removed on August 30th
guide.
All invasions have a chance for different siege vehicles to spawn, like Demolishers, Plague Catapults, and Shredders for the Horde, and Glaive Throwers, Siege Engines, and Warstriders for the Alliance. These spawn in faction-appropriate places, such as the Alterac Valley area for the Alliance and Gates of Orgrimmar for the Horde.
Dun Morogh
The dwarves are led by Muradin Bronzebeard and backed up by the other members of the Council of the Three Hammers--Moira and Falstad.
In addition to Siege Engines, players can hop on Warstrider Prototypes for five minutes. These resemble the Mechanical racial mounts for Gnomes. They have the abilities
Tir laser
,
Barrage de roquettes
, and
Mécanotrotteur
.
Dwarves love the brewery, so players can pick up the
Spécialité des Tonnebière
buff inside the Inn which increases stamina for 10 minutes. Other buffs include the
Pansement de soigneur de bataille
, a Powder Keg for AoE, and herbs that spawn buffs (
Champignon funeste
,
Trèfle du chaos
,
Herbe de lune
,
Pâlépine
,
Gangrenelle
)
Westfall
The Westfall forces are led by Gryan Stoutmantle and the Westfall Brigade, with the Sentinel Hill Refugees and Westfall farmers frightened by the disruptions.
While Westfall is overrun with traditional demons, it also has demonic harvest golems like
Moissonneur d’âmes
and
Faucheur gangrené 5000 reconstruit
, a reference to
Faucheur 5000
in the Deadmines.
In phase 3 after 40%, several consumables items spawn:
Bombe pesticide
spawns near Alexston's Farmstead.
Pierre du Brûleciel
spawns near Saldean's Farm
There are also more traditional consumables
Pansement de soigneur de bataille
by the Sentinel Hill medic camp and Powder Kegs by the Lumber Mill.
Gadgetzan
The Gadgetzan defense is led by Marin Noggenfogger of
Élixir Brouillecaboche
fame. While the town is in disarray, a vendor still sells
Élixir Brouillecaboche
during the invasion. He is always thinking of a profit with lines like "Heroes, take down their leader at Gadgetzan. Show 'em we've got hearts of gold...at least 72 percent pure!" and "When this is all over, don't forget your free - or slightly discounted - Noggenfoggers!"
Horde players can hop in Shredders with
Lance-flammes
,
Fusées de saut
, and
Piétinement de déchiqueteur
abilities.
Dr La Négoce
, a reference to Mad Max and Tanaris Fight Promoter, is hiding in the center of the Thunderdome. His explanation is "Listen here, bub. I've seen fighters come and go. A few demons don't scare me. Besides, somebody's gotta survive long enough to keep this thing runnin'. Might as well be me. Money ain't gonna make itself."
Maximillian de Comté-du-Nord
, the misguided knight from Un'goro quests, also shows up since the border of Tanaris is under attack. In typical grandiose fashion, he relishes the attack and assumes he will be fighting dragons.
You can pick up the
Armure renforcée
buff from the Blacksmithing vendor
Froisse Bonnacier
and
Armement resplendissant
from
Derotain Siroteboue
, as well as the
Spécialité de Courtemèche
bomb by the docks.
The Crossroads
High Overlord Saurfang leads the defense of the Barrens, with inspirational quotes to the players.
Gazleu
also helps out as Ratchet is under attack, with more conversational lines like "Make sure ya target the ugly ones and not us good lookin' folk, would ya?"
Players can rescue
Echeyakee
; if you save him, he'll help you fight the invasion. This is a popular hunter tame as part of the Horde quest
Echeyakee
.
There are two notable zone buffs: clicking on the Hearty Haunch by the orc beverage vendor
Larhka
grants
Repas copieux
,
Apothicaire Helbrim
's table contains the suitably-forsaken potion
Spécial d'Helbrim
.
Gates of Orgrimmar
The Orgrimmar defense is led by Trade Prince Gallywix, which is amusing as he is usually an absent leader, hiding during the Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria in his pleasure palace. (In Legion, he's once again retreated there for
Une potion particulièrement puissante
.)
He's a bit unconventional for a leader with lines like "Your combat skills are impressive, as advertised. And this trade prince knows how to advertise!" and "Is it just me, or are they getting angrier and...redder?"
You may be wondering where KEN is by Talrendis Point with all the yelling. That's just
Commandant Jarrodenus
fighting demons; when he completes
Hadouken
he yells "...KEN," the
Street Fighter
ability.
There are no special consumables associated with this zone.
Hillsbrad Foothills
The Tarren Mill defense is led by Helcular, a former follower of Kel'Thuzad who was murdered and later resurrected as a Forsaken. Horde players may remember questing in early WoW to resurrect Helcular with the
Bâtonnet d'Helcular
as part of the
La vengeance d'Helcular
questline. Helcular is an ironic choice to lead the defense of Hillsbrad Foothills as he was originally resurrected to take his revenge on the humans of Southshore that murdered him....and he caused the deaths of many low-level Alliance players.
Helcular now sounds surprisingly motivational, with inspirational speeches like "If you ever loved Hillsbrad, whether in years past or this day, stand and fight!" and "Whether you fight for god, king or gold, take them down!"
As befits a Forsaken town with an Apothecary, there are some spooky potions:
Bocal d'araignées
,
Potion de protection gangrenée
The Horde tower to the southwest of Tarren Mill contains chests with the following items:
Plume de mue
,
Pansement de soigneur de bataille
,
Gangrepierre
,
Pierre d'ombre
,
Bouclier de Sargeras
,
Echantillon de chancre
,
Pierre à aiguiser de garde de guerre
,
Pierre à aiguiser gangrenée
.
Southshore, destroyed by Forsaken Blight, now spawns
Echantillon de chancre
in phase 3.
