User Guide Spotlight: Faction Transmogs by Keldesh
16/03/2018 à 23:08
Welcome to the first article in the guide feature series! You probably know by now about
on Wowhead, but did you know there's over 1500 guides published on the site right now? With so many to choose from, it can be hard to find a guide, even when searching through a specific category. Because of this, some guides slip through the cracks and aren't viewed by many users simply because you don't know about their existence!
That's where I come in. As a long-time writer of over two dozen guides, I've seen what works and what doesn't in the guide system. Whether it's the perfect fit between layout and information, or the novel use of certain coding to explain a part of the game, I've seen it all. In this feature, selected impressive guides are being brought to your attention in a quick newsflash. Enjoy!
In this edition, we're featuring "
Show Your Allegiance Transmogs
" by veteran guide writer
. Keldesh has written guides on a number of topics ranging from addons to transmogrification and more, and their experience shows in this pair!

This two-part guide set provides full transmog sets for all armor types to show their allegiance for either the
. Tabards, as well as full sets, are displayed against a faction-specific background that inspires you to action! With the Battle for Azeroth expansion looming on the horizon, now is the time to get out there and acquire the gear you need to show your allegiance!
But there are so many transmog guides out there - why these ones? Well, as stated previously, the Battle for Azeroth expansion and focused topic of the guides are one reason. Another is the clean look to Keldesh's guides that really highlights the information. Do you only care about an Alliance clothie? No need to go sorting through tens of guides or hundreds of items trying to find the perfect one, only to find out the pieces aren't for your armor type or don't
match. Keldesh has done the work for you - picking out matching pieces of gear that are of the same armor type, with no missing slots! And in many cases, there is more than one option for your character's attire, so you have a bit of choice.
Let's take a closer look at the Horde guide:
The page starts you looking at a clean introduction that gets right to the point. With a link to the Alliance guide and a battle cry, the guide gets right down to business with the tabards.
Images of each tabard on a model are shown on backgrounds that allow the character to stand out. The focus here is clearly on the tabard, with each of the models standing front and center in their areas. Want to know what the tabard item is? Move your mouse over the image for a mouseover box to pop up that provides that information! Want to know where and how to get it? Click the image to be sent to the tabard item's page, where you can find all that information.
Next up are the full transmog sets, featured on an array of faction-specific character models and broken down by armor type. Moving your mouse over the image provides a little information about the set. Model not your character's race or gender? That's okay, clicking on the image will bring you to the item's or item set's page where you can pull up a model of your choice using the 3D Viewer. Same thing goes for how to obtain each item. Head to the item's page (via the outfit if necessary) and find out!
Remember, the guide is just to give you a good look at the transmog so you can see if you like it - it's up to you to find the pieces in-game and try them on for real!
The Alliance guide is identical in layout to the Horde one, so you can move between the two without having to learn anything new!
Do you have a guide you think ought to be featured? I'd love to hear from you! Please email me at
