Interesting read. I'm excited and a little skeptical.
I've never heard of Dave Kosak in my life O.o
I'm really hoping that Blizzard can come out with more content faster. I'm always really excited with new patches and expansions. More things to do give me more reasons not to get bored.
So no new content between now and MoP, rats was really looking forward to that. The best we can hope for now is Dave's definition of a few months. As in four, the commonly accepted definition of "few" Ok four is on the low end of few but a guy can hope right?
If we have to get an alliance character given the spotlight I'd like to see it be Velen, Jania or Anduin. Wyrnn is the Alliance equivalent of Garrosh and as such no one really cares. Jania got a bit of attention in WotLK during the dungeons leading up to ICC, but aside from that she is just "that one mage who hangs out in Theramore", which btw hasn't changed much except for the new Highway exit.
I'm fine with Varian getting some attention, the reason people hate on him is because they haven't fleshed him out beyond his role as 'The King'. The books give us just glimpses of his character and I think there's a lot of potential to make him far more interesting and the Alliance desperately needs a figurehead character that balances out Metzen's favorite Orc, Thrall. Even Garrosh has gotten significantly more attention then Varian and he was a second-rate nobody pre-Cata. Wolfheart did a lot to make Varian three-dimensional, they just need to bring it to the game now. From the literature there is potential for Anduin since we have no idea what hes doing with Velen. Their mysterious departure at the end of Wolfheart hopefully may be a lead in to a storyline in MoP (they left on some secret mission of Velens, perhaps to Pandaria?) Jaina had a bit of a moment with Varian in the last book.. maybe its time for a new Queen of Stormwind? I could see her character being a lot more relevant reuniting Theramore with Stormwind then just being that mage-chick on that island-city. Beyond that the Dwarven leadership is significantly shaken up during Cata and the Gnomes had Operation: Gnomeregan pre-Cata so its not like they need anything new at this point. Which leaves Tyrande/Malfuron (who got some time in Cata too) and Greymane who basically got the last expansion so.. yeah not really in need of a lot of attention at this point either. Introducing new Alliance characters would be good too, we've never had strong secondary characters like Garrosh, and Saurfang. Ours either die off (fordragon) or are nobodies with military titles that give us a few quests and disappear.Tirion is Argent Crusade and NOT alliance so dont waste the opportunity to flesh out the alliance on neutral characters. Its time Alliance gots its due.Okay so second part; I'm disappointed that there will be no new content between now and Pandaria. Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to Pandaria and I got absolutely nothing but anticipation for Pandas, however there's some issues in Cata that i think need to be resolved before we move on. Most notable on the list is N'zoth. I get that his Faceless got beat up, Deathwing's dead and the Twilight Hammers basically destroyed but we didn't resolve the source of the problem. I would assume there would be some additional fall out that should be addressed from Deathwing's demise as well.. I was rather hoping for another patch which offered a bit of resolution/closure to the whole event.. and I still want those big 'under construction' tents at Darkmoon Island to have dungeons lol ;)
Well I sure hope you make this a bit more challegning. Seems like the material is getting a whole lot easier and there is not challege to the quest/dungon (normal/heroic)/raids,etc. I understand there is a bunch of new kids who is now playing this game but for the ones who have been around since vanillia WoW, it has turned an 180 and is going south. Sad to see and to say this but the devolopers is killing off this game thanks to the constant nerfing of all material. Its sad that the quest in Outlands (Mastery Quest in Nagrad) has been reduce to non elites with only 10k health. With all the heirlooms on there is no challege. So please for the old time gamers here (vanilla) stop screwing with the difficulty of the material and bring it back like what it used to be during vanilla WoW.
If his definition of a few months is the same as everyone else's we could see MoP or at least the beta before Diablo 3, if it ever comes out.
