The only thing this Q&A did for me was hammer home the point that Ion and his team are very out of touch with what the people playing the game want, but so long as people keep paying $15 a month, they really don't care.
Well they really shot themselves in the foot if that's how the legendary token is going to be implemented. I have over 60 Days played on my main at 110 and still don't even have all the legendaries for a single spec. Why is this necessary? At this point in the expac everything is balanced around and ranking around having your 2 BIS (or close) legendaries, why make it harder (this isn't even challenging its just complete RNG) for people to compete on a somewhat even playing field.I'm honestly so confused at who their trying to appease with this decision.Edit: After watching the whole Q&A sessions it seems that this decision is just a symptom of a far larger problem.
Why is there so much RNG in Legion? RNG is a core concept of the game but Legion blows the roof off of it.Randomness has always been at the core of World of Warcraft. There is excitement in unpredictable outcomes. In Legion, RNG is in more places, but has less impact. Looking at loot, in Legion loot drops everywhere; you can get item level 900 and 915 gear from many places. If you're looking for a specific item, the impact of randomness is reduced but they also want something to strive for. If you go through a raid, it feels bad when players know there's nothing they can get that would be an upgrade. In addition, they don't like players doing old raids solely for the chance at Legendaries and are looking at systems to help change this. Throughout the expansion though, they're been reducing the gap between large RNG outliers such as legendaries. Ion thinks that the drop chance may not be the issue if Legendaries were all utility. As a customer, I am what Blizzard has survived off of. I am an upper-middle class male who has ample free time. I have played WoW essentially non-stop since 3 weeks after BC launched. I played through 2 deployments overseas, through crappy German internet for 3 years, and the horror that was the last year of WoD. I don't troll or complain and play the game at a moderate level: I clear raids on Heroic while it's current content, run a few M+ a week, and I'm an achievement w*****. This is the first time I've ever been motivated to actually post on this site in all the years of following it, and it took this quote to make me do it. It is also the first feedback from a Blizzard employee that's ever made me consider just leaving the game behind. If Ion, in some random chance, actually read what I'm writing, I would tell him that RNG has nearly ruined what I considered to be a fairly enjoyable expansion, and a fairly enjoyable 10.5 years of WoW gaming is being threatened by how absurd RNG at this point in the game is. And I've had good luck with RNG; my pally has been my main since day one and he's gotten multiple legendary drops and I've been lucky with Titanforging and other areas. It doesn't change the fact that the inability to target ANYTHING on a character at this point in the game is infuriating and he should sincerely get out of his echo chamber and listen to how insane some of these examples are of what his player base are dealing with. He comes off as self-righteous to the point of arrogance and utterly dismissive of the overwhelming consensus amongst the rank-and-file.
So, show of hands so we can prove that Ion is an idiot: who would actually be bothered by logging in and seeing some of your gear randomly more powerful (especially considering this has already happened once before)?
Hey! My question got picked! Account wide Argus Whistle people! Wohoo! \o/
I really wish they'd change their minds about the acc-wide prestige. My plan was to get every single artifact skin for every single class and spec. That's actually impossible to do that without acc-wide prestige. I will continue to farm honor with my paladin and I will hope that maybe one day, they'll change their minds.
it is going to be interesting to see how Legion holds up until the next expansion. I expected us taking the fight to the Legion to be the next expansion with a whole new world to explore. Instead it is just a small extension to the Broken Isle (I understand now why it is on the same map) with no flying and little to do.Is the planet in the sky an optical illusion so we can see it as based on what we do on Argus it is actually a very small planet. Some simple things I think would improve the situation;1. Either remove the link between story and world quests so Alts can do everything without repeating the quest chain again and again OR give flying on Argus (this can be with some pre-requisites like exalted with factions)2. Increase the Legendary drop rate 3. Add some new areas My current subscription ends in 28 days not sure I will renew. With the current position there needs to be a pay as you go option for subscriptions and I would currently use about an hour a day max.
Rng factor and no-flying atm totally is fine
I really feel like Ion needs to get his head out of his ass. This q&a was utter garbage, does he even listen to the community or play this game? First the lego chance was so high that early raiders got all of them and then they nerfed it so hard that my main only has 3 even though I do m+, raids, wq and wb on a dailie basis. And like the rest of you said it feels like we arnt going to get a new expansion at this blizzcon and play with argus for 1 year+.
Something I would like to see is an improvement on Marksmanship Hunters. Currently their dps is far too dependent on critical strikes to be competitive. With roughly only 35% crit chance this makes Marksmanship Hunters fall behind on dps meters, especially during their burst, which is even more crit based due to having a 50% increased critical damage during the Trueshot ability. Even with the legendary "MKII Gyroscopic Stablilizer" which increases every 2nd Aimed Shots crit chance by 15% it is still bad dps. The burst can be completely random, if you only do "normal" attacks during this time your burst will be extremely low, compared to if you do mostly or only critical strikes when your dps will be competitive to other classes.
Am I the only disappointed about Muse? No offense, but year after year the quality of blizzcon goes down ending-wise. Bring back ETC!
I believe it should just be a random drop. With the way they are saying it seems like most of my toon wont be able to get theirs until quite some time due to 0 DROPS on my main. Who ever come up with this idea here is retarded, now i my wells not work towards this due to its going to take a year or 2 to get having to collect all on one toon.
" Krokul Flute is going to be account-wide very soon!" - having just ground Argussian Reach rep on my 12 level 110s. thanks Blizz
