I seriously cannot wait for this, I fully expect to be playing classic more than current for a while. But I dont see it coming out anytime near the BfA release. I think Blizzard will hold onto this when they get feedback from community and if people are getting bored with current. I would say probably nearing the close of the BfA story arch which will be about 2-3 years from now. I honestly hope they work with those guys from the private server, they will have a lot of insight in bringing those players back to Blizzard and what they want. As well as helping Blizzard with getting the right feel for Vanilla.
ah I hope that those servers will offer us the possibility to redo the Ahn'qiraj gate opening !
I like ice cream too
Too much unkown for this to be something I look forward to at all.
classic server classic achievements come back ?
Is it bad that I'm more excited about this than the new expansion?
This project intrigues me, and I can't wait to learn more. I remember early WoW and it was certainly fun, but Blizzard has introduced so many quality of life features since then, and I'm not certain I would give them up. I will gladly wait to hear more about this as it moves forward in development.
One thing that I am concerned about are addons... old ones probably won't work in WoW Classic. I'm all for keeping the classic as close to vanilla as it goes, but also I'm afraid that we wont get addons as fast as we would want to. Maybe it would be possible for Blizzard to implement current UI enhancements (like enemy cast bar, raid UI and such). Purists can just opt to disable it in the options and for most of us would be a welcome inclusion and would not have to hunt on intrawebs to download such addons.I would like to post this on official forums, but i don't have the subscription to do it. So if someone agrees wit me - maybe start the conversation going on there?
I'm eager to hear which quality of life features we will keep in the new classic WoW
I might actually finally be coming back to WoW once these are open!
I'm with Slychd on this. It's intriguing. For me I'm curious to see what decisions they make about what is included and what isn't. I remember how much prep there was to raid as a rogue (or even to PVP) in Vanilla. I'm not sure I want to go back? But I probably will for a bit just to experience the fear of Stitches again lol.
I would like to try it, since I've started on TBC, but for now, i'm focused to future of the game and not the past.
I am super excited about this server!
"No decisions on connections to live servers (i.e. will account-wide stuff be available, etc.)"Without it it will be useless and with really little fun, as far as the 'main' game requires too many time from many players.
I'd like to know how "Classic" those servers will be. Because I can see some QoL being added, be it good or not.
I'd probably play a bit, but never played in vanilla. I do find that people reminisce on what once was and think only of the rosy things and forget everything that made them mad :P I know I'd miss all my mounts!
