The 50% at full stacks is only if u gave 280% flying speed. If you have max of 310%, which most people do these days, minimum it can bring you to is 80% movement speed. Still sluggish, but not the worst.
Cool mechanic, :)
I don't think I will ever understand this game's playerbase. This is seen as a negative? It's annoying that it'll slow us down? Of course it's annoying, it's supposed to be annoying. But when we had invasions without any air interference, people whined that it was too boring. I sometimes pity the designers. Make an encounter too easy, and the players will whine about it being a "loot pinata". Add in obstacles to avoid and fight around, they'll whine that it's too hard or obnoxious and anti-fun. I've reached the point where I would love to see what kind of encounter these types of players would want to see designed for themselves, and how long before they'd turn on their own creations for being too boring or too tedious :|Look, at the end of the day...if you don't want the slow down buff, maybe fly a bit to the left and avoid the giant worm. Problem solved. Or you know, fly face first into it and whine about how it's all blizzard's fault. I'm betting we'll see more of the latter.
I feel like this piece of news missed one tiiny little detail... the fact that the giant worm insta-kills you if you get too close.
lol this isnt meant to be "fun" invasions are not supposed to be they r chores and blizz doesnt want u doing ur chores to fast and complain there is nothing to do ( aka busy work ) none of this should come as a surprise . cuz as u know they regret flying and have to constantly mess with it .
Ready for this patch more and more.
It's an interesting mechanic, that's for sure. Buuut it has flaws imo, such as the debuff lasting for a while. I am more than sure it'll annoy me for some time before I get used to it.
My favorite feature in 8.3. I want more of this blizzard.
Personally, I prefer these sorts of “de-incentivized” approaches to handling the crutch of flying versus just gating it behind reputation or just making it a light switch. Sometimes it makes sense that we don’t just fly through everything, so it’s nice that Blizzard is providing those reasons that make sense within the context of the story. Adding risk makes it a good choice, imo.
Excellent! Now bring back the Monstrous Plainshawks from MoP snatching you off your mount and dropping you to your death and we'll be set!
I think it'd be a neat mechanic if the range wasn't so god awful large.
Just another silly annoying roadblock airblock on the name of "Immersion" by Blizz.I sure am laughing but not sure on the stupidity of their ever increasing "keep players in the game longer" methods or on the players who think things like this are fun. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
