Note: It's currently unclear whether or not you can craft a Legendary week 1, as Blizzard has recently tuned Soul Ash drops from quests. However, this change will slow down Soul Ash acquisition.

Layers 1 - 3 will unlock at launch, after the first weekly reset.

Layers 4 - 6 will unlock on Castle Nathria Launch.

Layers 7 - 8 will unlock on Mythic Nathria Launch.

So, this is something that players haven't seen on beta yet, because of the state the beta servers are at with unlocks. We'll only have the first three layers of Torghast available at launch. Layers four through six will open when Nathria opens and the season starts. Layers seven and eight will become available the following week, alongside Mythic Nathria and everything else. And yes, the intent is certainly that the high layers will require higher gear levels. Of course, the very best players will be able to overcome those hurdles as they do everywhere. I don’t want to have to feel the need to grind out all this stuff at the expense of holiday time with family. If they hadn't staggered the release, you'd whine and cry about how overtuned it is and how you can't complete anything above layer 3 without more gear, etc. This is literally done to save you time, instead of forcing you to clear 54 floors of Torghast per character during the first week, with each layer taking about 30 minutes, so about 4.5 hours of mandatory content for each character you intend to play.

There's literally no winning with people whose only goal in life is to complain at every opportunity they get. They offered refunds, if you're so upset, act. No one cares about your constant whining and crying which is facetious and done for attention, nothing else. Jokes aside i understand that this change is probably for the best since clearing 8th layer really demanded leveling fast and gearing up the first week. But why now? This was obvious like months ago. People say many different things about SL but the main question is - why blizzard is trying to jump over their head with a ton of mechanics which they never would have balanced, especially now when the company is f-d up by money mongering and covid. Why they implement so many things now and just restrict the usage of it? I just don't get it. On beta it is a 20 hour lock between most of the quests and can be completed pretty quickly. What happened to just enjoying all the new content? Exploring the areas. Now it is a mad rush to max level, all the high ilvl gear, and "world first" racing. WHO CARES! Enjoy the game. Stop with the NOW NOW NOW attitudes.
