I just finished an alt to 60 using campaign, now I have to finish the campaign to unlock covenants?
Does anybody know if the raw amount of items awarded by the campaign is in par with threads of fate? And what about the level of epic items? I intend to level an Enchanter so the more access to dust/shards, the better.
I disagree with the analysis that this is "Slower than campaign questing." Just for some background I level all 12 classes at the beginning of every recent expansion and I seek out the fastest most efficient way of doing this to prepare my characters very early on, I leveled 2 times to 60 with the Campaign this week and just got done with my first Threads of Fate session and now have my third Shadowlands Level 60. I can confidently and assuredly say the Threads of Fate leveling was substantially faster, and furthermore this synopsis here does not even make mention of the pretty heavy reputation gains and various unlocks that questing with the "Sojourner" side quests provides. Granted I will say that one would do well to know how to read a map well, and use goblin gliders and other quality of life tools any player interested in efficiency should be employing anyways. To reiterate, if you are traveling to the Yellow Exclamation Points on the map and filling up the zone progress bar primarily with this method it seems more efficient (faster) than repeating the campaign, and unquestionably more productive in terms of end game progression and reputation gains. And this was done having done next to none of these side quests in the prior 2 campaign playthroughs.I genuinely want to help you, seriously give ToF a try on your alts!
The article doesn't really tell that during story line option you can Queue for dungeons and exp the same as it claims for threads of fate, so its not really faster dungeon grinding in 1 side vs the other since both have dungeon queue's to join in on ?The choice is more if you want story stuff and those parts that came with it, vs skipping to just do world quests and side missions and the same dungeons queue's. For me running solo was some times more hastle then with a extra person on hand to run the missions with, as having a pally heal help with the grinding was smoother then solo. For faster leveling definitely grouping either story or fate route is fastest, vs solo. For the grind leveling solo doesn't matter both routes have hindrances in mobs that are not so fun to quest push though areas / quests solo mobs some areas are kinda pain for some toons when gear is light leveling up alts.
Do campaign and most quests along the way in Bastion until 56 then Maldraxxus until 59.9 Then go back to Ori and turn on FoT to complete campaign. Do 1 dungeon and ding 60. Thats the fastest way to level and complete campaign at the moment. It's also the only meaningful way to use ToF right now. It's an awful system with no benefits other than ignoring the campaign. I can also run dungeons in campaign mode, no benefit at all to use ToF for that either. Its currently a broken and terrible implementation that needs some serious balancing.
If you missed the NPC that allows you to skip the story, here it is: Fatescribe Roh-Tahl :)
what to do when we reach 60 level, but we still have a few quests (about 2 hours of play) in the main story. is it worth turning on Threads of Fate?
Gathering professions give XP per gather. Each mining or herb node gives XP. It is doubled with rest bonus. The mats are also quite valuable early on in the AH.
I tried it for a bit. Mining ore and collecting herbs was about 1k per node. You level up your professions, gain exp, and you have a massive amount of ore and herbs to sell or use for your other professions. 1k experience when I tried it was when I was level 53-55.
Some more things for the pro column:
Careful with advising purple to only turn on TOF just before hitting 60.I found out the hard way, that the follow up to the region quest - which gives one Renown each (!) - will not be granted once you turned 60.IMO that's also missing from TOF pros. Starting your covenant campaign with a 4 Renown head start is pretty nice.
None of the guides are clear on this so I'm hoping someone can answer: You can access to covenants early with Threads of Fate, but you don't get the end-game features like soulbinds/canduits/mission table. Do you still get those at 60, or are they permanently locked out on the alts that choose Threads of Fate?
You get those at 60.
only problem is on crappy geared alts you cannot spam any dungeon in shadowlands because 80 item lvl you won't even be close to if you have crappy geared alts that weren't able to do the fast gearing stuff at the end of BFA, in icecrown. I've got a dozen alts that there's no way in heck i had time to gear them all, lol, so i'm stuck with crappy item levels on a ton of level 48 toons for shadowlands, so it's questing for me until 80 ilvl :( . terrible system especially since all a dungeon is while leveling is a simple normal mode.....can't believe there is ilvl requirements still for normal dungeons in new expansions.
What to do with anima objects you collect on character/alts BEFORE they reach Level 60Note that you can store Anima you happen to gain (from quest rewards, etc.) in the Anima Reservoir in your Covenant Sanctum even before you reach level 60. Right-click on the NPC at the Anima Reservoir and then click on the "Deposit" button and the anima will be stored in the reservoir. I am looking forward to spending some of the anima without having to go out questing in order to do my first upgrade to the transport system. OFC, the alt I did this on was using the Threads of Fate alternate levelling method where you choose your covenant in Oribos during the early stages of the process.;)
