I don't know if it's a gear thing or not, but Mythic+ in general feels a bit overtuned at the moment. This week has been absolutely brutal.
Reading these, particularly the hardest ones, it seems like healers are bearing the brunt of the difficulty. If you want fewer healers, this is how you get fewer healers.
Tyrannical is fine. I like when bosses don't fall over in 10 sec and you actually have to play mechanics. Fortified on the other hand is terrible. Nobody wants to mindlessly clear tons of adds for 30 min
Tarvold is even harder with Storming, throwing off dodges to the blood-glass and Castigate.
I've never done a mythic dungeon before but I would like to try one. If I can work up the courage to try to join a group for it. Does this mean that this week is not a good week for a first timer? I didn't know that the bosses changed strength by week. I want to start with something easy so I don't get raged out of a group.
Second boss in Sanguine Depths. Executor Tarvold on +10, tyrannical week. 6k/second from Castigate, 3k/twice a second, unavoidable, un-ccable damage from add that spawns every 30 seconds or so. You can cc the add, but it will only stop its melee attacks. Only killing it will stop the pulsing aoe.So.. if you get castigate and the add is up, you take 12k damage every second. Even with perfect play, the add will take AT-LEAST 2 global cooldowns from everyone in your group, counting out some major CDs because they cant be up every 30 seconds. You will take 24k damage in 2 seconds, of which 12k is applied to everyone in your group too. With current gear levels and average of ~32k hp, if you take any damage and get no healing in the 2 second window, 1 tornado, 1 tick of ground effect, you are simply put, dead. We couldn't do the boss on +10 with hp pots, 3 classes with immunity (rogue cloak of shadows, paladin bubble, mage ice block) and druid healer with 6-7k hps, monk with 2k hps, ret paladin with 2k hps. Dps average was ~3,5k, which is low but taking in account the mechanics understandable. We did the fight near perfectly, avoiding almost every tornado and ground effect, but the damage was still too much after a bit. Our best attempt was at 30% health, at which point the healer was oom and no one had any defensive cooldowns or potion cooldowns left.I have spoken, this boss is insane and needs a nerf.
Theres no 30% phase on Theater of Pain last boss. There is a 50% phase 2 though :). Please give true information to people.
Well keep in Mind that gear levels will increase with each week. And every week has easy Keys (like cmon Hall of Atonment is basically free.. you can easily dodge the Tornados even if you soak the beams). The higher the Gear the easier it gets. No one says you need to hit +10 or +15 every week on every Key ;)But as some people said.. for NOW alot of these Bosses are a massive pain in the butt especially if you healer had ^&*! luck in the RNG roulette leading up to this week. I can see why alot of people find it unfun to play these Keys because i think its far too early to have Tyrannical. Its usually fine 2-3 months into the game but surely not in M+ week 2.
Tyrannical is just dumb and bland. A flat increase to boss damage and hp that can make a boss fight seem overtuned its the main reason why people will push keys on fortified weeks instead of tyrannical and also, the new storming affix is just annoying as melee especially on Boss fights there is already enough mechanics on boss fights and trash packs that require you to kite and move around a ^&*! ton adding another into the mix made fights less enjoyable.
Do you remember when they added a pseudo Tyranicall to Torghast tower a few days ago?. I do, and no one was happy. This kind of affix design was introduced with Artifact weapons + legendaries on mind. Now they just move them to the next expansion, most of them untouched or not enough adjusted to our actual game situation.Blizzard, +40% hp it's too much, sounds like a dps check issue more than a skill issue. This affix isn't make you a better player or a skilled one, it's shows you that this week you are undergeared (tanks, healers and dps).That is all.And fortified shows what comp can do more cc and skip more adds, or snipe specific groups of trash into the dungeon to complete the trash percentage
Sanguine Depths | M+ 11Tarvold with Tyrannical is just absurd. After wiping a thousand times (even though mechanics were clear), we two-healed it, which again resulted in a lot of wipes. Eventually, we managed to kill him, but wow... what a &*!@ing boss. Focus the add INSTANTLY, use heal cd-s when add is up and pull boss back to avoid the pools. We were lucky, that the mage could use ice block two times for the debuff and as a resto, I used HotW and bear form two times. (Tank Pala, Resto heal, frost mage, moonkin, pala heal)
I came here to say how much i actually despise Tyranical but as i was typing this is realized i hate Tornados more....
As a holy pally, I just cancelled my sub, but realized it runs until May 2021 (my bad). I'll undoubtedly continue, as I've been playing since vanilla, but this has been an utterly demoralizing first couple weeks to M+ after what was otherwise an outstanding launch. I love the zones and the overall dungeons, but it is so incredibly and awfully punitive right now to log into the game...
