I would like Blizzard to leave some stasis servers. I want to be able to come back and play my vanilla character(s) anytime, gather up so old m8s and run some instances, some BGs, or even raid.Fresh vanilla realms are a great idea, but they need to leave some static realms and give us the option to move/keep our characters there. Having the option to copy a character into TBC and keep the vanilla one would be the absolute best choice. I'd pay for that if I had to. New Vanilla realms would be fun as, but I would loose all motivation if the character I spent literal months of game time on was just going to disappear or be nerfed down to a mere 60 on a lvl 70 expansion. Leveling up and getting new gear is fun, but I also want to have a top tier character on vanilla forever that I can play whenever.
I like playing classic and all - with 4 classes at 60, im not going to go through the trouble to lvl them up again for TBC..They should get rid of the gold, so you cant bring it with you.
For everyone worrying about it only being asked of classic players, I had this survey. I've never played classic. Not installed it or created a character. Sheer 'luck' that I got it.
Me and my friends would be all over a Classic fresh from P1 since we're not really hyped for TBC or shadowlands. Would be even better if we saw some changes in regards to breaking the boosting meta for example nerf exp while having a 60 in lower lvl instance, add aoe/nova cap to mages, break objects used to abuse pathing in instances like the poles in mara (just make them so people can stand on them.
F R E S Hseriously though my classic experience went to $%^& for me and I don't even play classic anymore and have not since phase 2/3 so I would love to play on a fresh classic server. However I would love to see tbc classic eventually as I also like tbc even though I prefer classic and I don't feel like I'm ready for tbc as I have not completed classic. I didn't even do AQ....
What I don't understand is why not everyone gets the poll
This whole experiment is because we (private server players) originally wanted to be able to play the content as it was years ago. Vanilla was a good start. I recommend they allow the tourists to transfer to the new content leaving the old behind to play perpetually because modern WoW players definitely suffer from content deficit disorder.I think the fairest would be to split the population up. Retire the current servers to be locked into 60 forever and become landing servers for all future resets of Classic Vanilla. Transfer others to new TBC servers, start Vanilla over on other servers. Repeat with each next level of content and just transfer all characters under level 19 to the landing server, reset the server to Phase 1.Oh noes! They'll break up the community! Not hardly... if people don't want to play TBC with their current guild, they're going to split anyhow. In other words, the tourists are going to move on, the rest of us are going to play the game we enjoy and fought over for a decade. I know that in original Vanilla had I had the choice of moving into TBC or staying behind, I would have chosen to stay behind on my main and play TBC on another server. And today, that would give you THREE options to play the game, and if you're Blizzard and making an incredibly addictive game whose only intention is to keep you logged in, then this would be the cat's ass in terms of cash cows.TBC is interesting, I played it hardcore and did the whole race to server first crap in it's day. But really, it isn't nearly as repeatable as original Classic as it is just a race to finish Tier 5 within 4 months, race to finish Tier 6, wait around nearly a year farming bear mounts in ZA, and then try to finish Tier 6.5 in 5 months before the eventual nerf for a Wrath release. There are no world buffs, the game adds more mechanics and phases to scripted bosses rather than one and done and the biggest challenge to the game is completing dailies and countering Druid/X/X and RMP teams in 3s. Classic is far more interesting than this thing.
OMG, I would like to play my classic account for another year. So are you telling me I will be forced to progress to TBC? And I don't have an option to copy my account to a classic server? BLZ, what are you thinking?
So I guess that counts as "confirmed", looks like they're already working on adjusting the amount of realms.
"1. Transition current servers to progressive TBC servers." If there isn't an option to transfer my Characters to a new PVE TBC server I'm out. I'm not playing on a PVP server in TBC heck no, no way. It was bad enough back in TBC and there is no way I'm going through that again with 5 times the number of players per server.
"So I guess that counts as "confirmed" It's not confirmed until Blizzard announces it. This would be considered more evidence to support it happening, but not any real confirmation. Blizzard isn't likely to change their mind if that's their plan, but their leadership could scrap the idea and never do it.
they should actually do a survey like this in the login screen as well so they get the opinion from the active player base as well.
im of the mind continuing on from classic into TBC is the right path. No one I know wants to start fresh and level through to 70 again.
