Hey if anyone knows where I can find these guys I would be very grateful to hear where they are. I search the region that thottbot shows for a while and I can't find one of them. I just want the branch =).

I agree. I ran around for an hour and didn't see a single cursed sycamore.

It's a named creature, non-aggro (but can be attacked). It wanders in the area marked by Thottobtt. Seems to spawn in the SW corner of The High Wilderness -- that's where I first encountered it, and I had been running around that area for a while looking.

The Sycamore Branch is definitely a 100% drop because my brother and I killed it and we were both able to loot the branch.

gota agree with panoramix. I addition to hating those hypos the first cursed sycamore i came across & killed dropped the branch. long haul for just a branch though.

It's respawn point is at 56,74, at the bottom of a huge tree (I spend time killing it and tracing back to this point).
And it is not a rare spawn, I think it is an unique spawn, and will be respawn 5 mins later after killed.
Kick its ass and solve this sucking quest!

made the macro but before i could get to use it i ran right into him - took him out easy as lvl 42 warlock dropped ofc ... no more to tell =)

Ok Just wondering How does he look like ?
Is it a Tree ant ?
Cuz if it is then its not 100% drop rate

Well, i have killed 4 so far, and no branch. Now, i thought i would be slick and turn in the grain, truesilver, and branch in one trip. I was hoping it would just drop, and not have to be triggered...
but I did find the hippogryph eggs! at 56,76 and 53, 74 for the Egg-O-Matic quest in Gadgetzan.

**Note: egg quest has been nurfed per Blizz as of 1/18/06 due to hacker exploit**

There is also fishing (second egg area) for nightfin, redgill, salmon, & oilies...

Goldthorn, sungrgrass, samsam...mithril

The xp is good: 550 (rested bonus) per beastie for a lvl 46 warrior. I had a harder time with the Frayfeather patriarchs.
Save vibrant plumes for Darkmoon Faire in Goldshire :)

i think this is the macro ppl are talking about. go to the macros menu pick a picture for it and type /target cursed sycamore. now ride around clicking the thing in the action bars like mad till it tatrgets it :-)

I dont know about any quests (Horde)but if you go to around 55,71 where all the hippogryphs are and get within sight of the west side of large building with the ogres. You will see the Wandering forest walker... kill a forest walker... the cursed sycamore spawns... Kill the Sycamore... the foerest walker spawns...one will spawn until the other one is dead! They spawn on either side of the field the lake area for the sycamore, and near the building for the walker... so keep yopur eyes open. the spawn rate is one about every 2 minutes or less. Its a nice place to sit and wait for the musiks and treant logs for the horde quests.. My husband and I had 3 each with in 40 minutes. better than running around like your crazy. but the sycamore does not drop the items. Track elementals with a hunter is very nice.

WoW Classic.
NPC is neutral, patroling prominent highland with hyppogryphs, not elite, solo kill. Exact spawning location is 56,6 74,8.
Respawns after death in 5-7 minutes randomly in the same location, timed it.
Corpse disappears in 2-3 minutes randomly.
If you have no quest, quest branch will not drop. 4 kills 0 branches without quest. So you can't do all 5 quests of this chain beforehand and just come to dwarf to turn-in all 5 at once like you could turn-in 1st quest with Holy Spring Water to him without having corresponding quest in the first place.
Got quest for this Sycamore guy, branch dropped from 1st kill. Probably that's why it shows drop rate as 32% because of people without quest, for people with quest it's probably 100%.

Before coming to this location create macro:

/target Cursed Sycamore

and run around spamming it to target this guy when he is nearby.

The TomTom (add-on) waypoint, at which the "Cursed Sycamore" spawns, is 56.6 74.8 If alive, he returns to that point every five minutes, or, if dead, he spawns there every five minutes. He will not drop a Sycamore Branch unless you have the correct Sweet Amber quest, which is number four in the sequence. You will have to clear out the Frayfethers--Patriarchs 610 xp, Skystormers 584xp, and Stagwings 556xp (xp is for a rested lvl 44 toon), otherwise they will swarm you under. It is hard to get them one-at-a-time. Be cautious!
