pretty sick tank staff. this would take care of a lot of hit/expertise rating a tank would want, letting them focus on pure agility/dodge. it could use a little more pizazz... but lets leave that to the epic ones :-)

This staff is actually lower item level than other similar items found so far on the beta.

I'm going to call it - (check this space in a few months) - they'll bring it up to the same item level as the similar items by adding the itembudget's worth of something useful. Presumably stamina, but a mix of stamina and agility would be nice too.

This staff, albeit looking good, lacks everything a feral tank wants. Agility and stamina, that is. The lack of defense rating, as always, higly irritates me. I understand that with the scaling of expertise, we will need more, but that much is overdoing it.

It's always sad to see how badly they itemise feral gear, one example being the Pillar of Ferocity. At any rate, I hope they will make tank AND DPS staves, but I'm not expecting any better than what we already have in BC.

You should not forget that this is a tanking staff for levelling and hopefully nothing more.

This staff may be missing agility and stamina, but other new leather items have lots on them. They however have currently no additional armor.
Furthermore, defense and resilience will become useless, so you will already switch items when patch 3.0 hits.

So my guess is that you will pick this staff for levelling, since you'll want a decent mixed equip.

Seems to be the Braxxis' Staff of Slumber of the expansion. Hopefully it'll get some stamina and agility/dodge. Otherwise I see no reason to take this over Wildfury or the Pilliar.

This and all the other +armor feral weapons won't be of much use with the upcoming feral armor changes.

This staff isn't very good. expertise is nice but there is so much expertise on leather pieces that you don't really need a big amount from a weapon like this. also it has pretty low attack power making it a poor choice for DPS compared to other staves, including Staff of the Sorrowful Chieftan which is an easily acquired quest reward.

The only really good thing about this staff is the 700 armor which next patch and also doesn't really make up for the fact that this has no stamina or agility. I don't really see a reason to use this staff and it is in need of being reitemized.

Edit: Because I wrote that the armor was being removed before we knew that it was just losing the multiplier.

Got mine in DTK, dropped off one of the elite dinosaurs. So I guess it's a World Drop.

Just dropped for me off a Banshee Soulclaimer in Zul'Drak. Gonna throw on AH. If interested /tell Xanathas on Lothar-Horde. Can put on Neutral AH if need be.
